I have not blocked them at this point in time because they acknowledged
and apologised.

However, we block all google usenet, have done for months, so do you
think I'd have any issue with blocking anyone else?

It is of course an extreme example, based on weighting E.S. are nowhere
near googles level of being a problem, from what I see Ray does a fair
job of dealing with trouble makers, but when dealing with filtering, I
consider the bigger overall picture across all groups, what you see is
one person in this group, what I see or our abusedesk may already have
seen 100 across many, afterall if googles vermin were only in one group,
I like most others would just block googlegroups in that one group, but
they are not in just one group, they are in too many to count.

If someone is filling your inbox with junk, in Email you expect your ISP
to stop it, for every junk message you might get, your ISP has already
blocked dozens more.

There comes a point when it only takes one more to tip the scales, you
can only play the wack-a-mole game for so long. If you post junk in
forums you'll get your arse kicked off, mailing lists the same, so why do
you think usenet should be different.
