yet you haven't.

the 'list' is still wildly incorrect, full of errors and misleading
information, with several items listed twice.

I know nospam's game is to deny all about Apple that he hates about Apple.
But I'm not sure what Steve's goal is given Steve hasn't fixed the errors.

In this case all I can say is that Steve is a boldfaced unabashed liar.
I've emailed him my _entire_ set of posts in this thread.

Every single one.

And even if Steve claims he ignored the email - he has to ignore the posts
in order to remain with his head firmly stuck deep into the sand on facts.

And that just means Steve doesn't care about the facts even a tiny bit.

For Steve to claim otherwise just proves my point that people who ignore
facts are either duplicitous (i.e., they have an agenda), or, ignorant.

Or, as nospam said, both.
Either way, Steve's is a brazen liar and his response above proves it.
--
Steve isn't as stupid as the apologists so I suspect he has an agenda.

he used to do the same shit long ago with nikon/canon cameras and no
doubt other products in other groups.

you've said two things today that are true.

I'm not at all like you, nospam. Nor like the apologists. Nor like Steve.
I'm extremely well educated, reasonably intelligent, and inherently factual.

If you told me a fact which showed Google sucks - I'd agree with you.
If you told me a fact which showed Microsoft sucks - I'd agree with you.
If you told me a fact which showed Apple sucks - I'd agree with you.

Just as if you showed me a fact that any of them were great - I'd agree.
I agree on facts. Only on facts.

The facts tell me whether Apple/Google/Microsoft suck or are great.
Almost everyone on the Android & Windows newsgroups is similar on facts.

What's DIFFERENT are the Apple newsgroups.
All you apologists are cultist's. You're all religious zealots.

You _believe_ absolutely everything the bible (i.e., Apple's web site) says.
You _believe_ absolutely everything the prophet (i.e., Tim Cook) says.

What's supremely _different_ is most of you apologists are utter morons.
Take Alan Baker - he's so stupid it is mind boggling he can survive.
Add Alan's IQ to Joerg Lorenz' IQ and you won't even crack 50.

Next in low IQ are Jolly Roger, BK, Lewis, Wade Garrett, Savageduck, et al.
They're incredibly stupid - to a man - which is why they hate me.

They (and you) have no _adult_ defense to something as simple as a fact.
Which is why apologists _hate_ me - because they hate facts about Apple.

However, you, nospam.... you're only slightly different than they are.
Like they are, you _are_ incredibly ignorant - of that there is no doubt.

But you're not _as_ ignorant as the rest of the apologists are.
You simply have an agenda to defend Apple at all costs.

You'll defend Apple to the death, nospam.
Your agenda is to _always_ fabricate an excuse for Apple.

Which is why you always blame everyone but Apple for Apple's own flaws.
Your posts can be predicted _years_ in advance, nospam.

Because you will always deflect blame from Apple for Apple's own flaws.

But you _know_ when you're fabricating a lie (which is all the time).
The rest of the apologists actually _believe_ the lie (all the time).

You don't.

You don't believe your own fabrications (they do - but you don't).
In fact I doubt you believe a single word you claim when you fabricate lies.

They believe everything; you don't.
That's the only difference between you and the other ignorant apologists.
Alan Baker, Chris, Haemactylus, Joerg Lorenz, Jolly Roger,
Lewis, nospam, Rod Speed, Wade Garrett, Your Name, et al.
--
You're also not as foul mouthed as the kindergarten cesspools Lewis & JR
and Joerg Lorenz are - but you're just as poorly educated as they are.
Not a single one of you has something as basic as a college degree.

I just checked Steve's "bogus list" of supposed iOS versus Android.....
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JznrWfGJDA8CYVfjSnPTwfVy8-gAC0kPyaApuJTcUNE>

*Steve's list is easily shown to be _completely wrong_ on Android updates.*

For example, there's no mention that Samsung updates at least 4 years.
<https://www.zdnet.com/article/samsung-extends-security-updates-for-galaxy-phones-to-4-years/>

And there's no mention Qualcomm updates hardware drivers similarly long.
<https://www.qualcomm.com/news/onq/2021/05/20/announced-google-io-2021-regular-google-nnapi-updates-qualcomm-snapdragon-mobile>

Nor is mentiopned the critically important comparison point that almost all
of Android is updated completely outside the OEMs & carriers nowadays.
https://oltnews.com/android-12-features-we-love-the-android-runtime-environment-is-now-part-of-project-mainline-android-central

*These types of asynchronous OS updates are _impossible_ to do with iOS.*

Apologists always prove to be fantastically ignorant of everything other
than what Tim Cook's (rather brilliant) Apple MARKETING web site feeds them.

*Steve's description of iOS versus Android updates is completely dead wrong*

Steve needs to first understand that iOS updates monolithically, and then
Steve needs to add that information to his comparison, because the two
ecosystems update the OS & security updates completely differently.
<https://groups.google.com/g/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/c/94j9pNcgJwQ>

1. iOS uses a singularly primitive archaic monolithic update method
2. Android separates the OS from the security updates, as do all modern OS's

For example, modern systems _separate_ the OS from the security updates:
*Android security updates*: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin
*Windows security updates*: https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide

Where Android, for one, uses the modern project Mainline & Treble methods:
*Project Mainline*:
<https://www.androidcentral.com/android-12-features-we-love-android-runtime-now-part-project-mainline>
P*roject Treble*:
<https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releases/2020/12/16/qualcomm-and-google-announce-collaboration-extend-android-os-support-and>

Notice even the Qualcomm GPU hardware drivers are now updated over GP:
<https://www.androidauthority.com/gpu-driver-updates-phones-1096423/>

BTW, note how complex iOS' archaic update mechanisms are, as revealed here:
<https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2021/06/09/apple-ios-15-new-iphone-upgrade-iphone-12-pro-max/>
"Consequently, this is a massive deal for both Apple and its users.
It's a radically different way to advance iOS and it fulfills a promise
the company had been hinting at for some time. It is objectively superb
news."

"06/09 Update: Apple has confirmed to me that only users who stay on
iOS 14 will receive the latest iOS 15 security updates, for users who
upgrade to iOS 15 they must keep updating their phone to each new
release to receive security updates. This creates something of a
strange double standard, where cautious upgraders will be better
served camping out on iOS 14 than jumping early to iOS 15 then
skipping updates. It's a curious decision which means users on
iOS 15 will again be forced to choose between risking the stability
of their phone in exchange for timely security updates. Come
iOS 16, Apple really needs to match its rivals and separate feature
upgrades and security updates into dedicated releases."

Also bear in mind Samsung currently updates frequently for four years:
<https://techstory.in/google-pixel-6-series-to-get-five-years-of-software-updates/>

And Google is expected to soon announce five years of frequent updates:
<https://techstory.in/google-pixel-6-series-to-get-five-years-of-software-updates/>

All of which is in _addition_ to the Project Mainline/Treble updates!
--
Alan Baker, Alan Browne, Chris, Haemactylus, Joerg Lorenz, Jolly Roger,
Lewis, nospam, Rod Speed, Savageduck, Wade Garrett, Wolffan, Your Name,
et al. and Steve will not understand a word spoken here, but adults might.

Is this a joke? How is 17 any better than other news apps? What is
20? Only you care about 23.

yes.

his list is a sick joke. it's what he does to troll.

it's a subscription service that is not available on android.

it's nothing particularly critical.

yep.

he has some *really* fucked up ones this time, including these:

android has that.

the only walls are ones people build themselves.

however, it's true that there is less malware on ios than on android.

several android phones have e-sims.

e-sims are the future.

wtf does that even mean?

> 21. iPhones have greater resale value ?
> 22. Face Recognition ?
> 23. Compatibility with Visible by Verizon ?

this is not a factor whatsoever.

> 24. Integrated reminder app with location based reminders ?

which you don't even know how to use.

you claim to want an app to do what's already built into ios.

> 25. Apple Credit Card with 3% discount and 0% financing on purchases
> direct from Apple ?

true, but hardly a reason to get an iphone.

although it is a bigger benefit than a battery indicator (android #57).

> 1. Expected on future Android phones or future version of Android OS
>

most of which iphone users *already* *have*

> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
> ---
> Note:Some of these features are available on Jailbroken iPhones and are
> noted in the list

note: nearly all of them are available on iphones, with some going back
to the very first iphone 14 years ago.

you have *no* clue what you're babbling about and are just listing
random things to add to the length of the android side of the list,
hoping nobody actually verifies anything.

it's called trolling.

> 3. Headphone jacks ?

android was first to remove the old analog headphone jack, starting
with the first android phone in 2008 and more recently, several models
*before* the iphone 7.

> 4. MicroSD Card Slots ?
> 5. Apps (or ³There¹s an App for That²) ?

wtf are you smoking?

ios has apps and 'there's an app for that' is *apple's* slogan

> 6. App stores ?
> 7. 3D Fingerprint sensors2 ?

what you call '3d fingerprint sensors' are in-screen sensors and do not
work well.

they are slow, unreliable and easily spoofed, so while android does
technically have that and ios does not, it's not actually a good thing.

> 8. Reverse wireless charging2 ?

iphone 12 has that

> 9. USB-C ?

iphones use lightning, which has numerous advantages over usb-c and
very few disadvantages, and at the time it was first released nearly a
decade ago, usb-c did not exist.

for iphones to change to usb-c at this time would be a *huge* disaster.

> 10. USB 3.0 Speed2 ?

recent iphones do.

> 11. Separate audio volume controls for different functions (Available on
> Jailbroken iPhones) ?

ios supports that and it's up to the app developer, not apple, to take
advantage of it.

> 12. Better Security2 ?

hah, no. it's very easy to pwn an android phone.

> 13. Split screen2 ?

smartphones are too small for that to be of any use, although some apps
do support it on ios.

> 14. Content transfer to a PC (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?

trivial to do on ios.

> 15. Choice of app launchers (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?
> 16. FM radio ?

fm radio in a cellphone does not work well (or at all).

a much better solution is a streaming app, which has no distance
requirement and can stream much more than just fm radio.

> 17. Better cameras2 ?

not really

> 18. Better displays2 ?

nope.

the ipad is the only mobile device with a mini-led xdr display, which
is coming to iphones.

> 19. Better hardware2 ?

nope.

> 20. Ability to set a default music app (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?
> 21. Faster charging2 ?

not really and it doesn't actually matter since people charge overnight.

> 22. Foldables2 ?

the technology for foldable phones is not ready yet.

the first samsung foldable phones broke within *hours* of use by
*reviewers*, before they were even offered for sale to the public.

> 23. LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) displays2 ?

supply constraints have delayed that for iphone, but it's coming.

> 24. Faster data speeds on both 4G and 5G2 ?

nope. iphones were among the first to support lte advanced and mmw 5g.

> 25. ANT+ ?

ant is dead.

ios supports standards that are actually being used, such as matter and
thread.

> 26. Contact groups (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?
> 27. GPS location spoofing (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?

both available on all ios devices, no jailbreak required

> 28, Better ad blocking (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?

available on all ios devices, no jailbreak required, and it's as good
or better than android.

> 29. USB OTG ?

available on all ios devices, which is how many accessories work, such
as the camera connector.

> 30. iTunes not required for wired hotspot ?

correct. it isn't.

it's the easiest way, but it is definitely not required.

> 31. Mouse and keyboard support2 (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?

external keyboards have worked since the very first iphone and a mouse
for a phone is just silly.

> 32. Hole Punch cameras instead of a large notch2 ?

face id hardware will not fit in a hole-punch cutout.

> 33. Removable Batteries ?

that's a hardware feature, not an android feature.

> 34. Parental Control Apps2 ?

ios has had that for many, many years.

> 35. Wide Selection of Devices ?

it's larger than for iphones, however, many android devices are not
that great.

the major players are samsung, google pixel and oneplus.

> 36. Better Biometric Authentication2 ?

nonsense.

face id is by far the most secure biometric authentication method
available on any mobile device.

> 37. File System (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?

no jailbreak needed.

> 38. Rooting is Easy, when Necessary ?

jailbreaking is also easy, although it's not necessary.

> 39. SMS Forwarding (Available on Jailbroken iPhones) ?

available on all ios devices, without jailbreak.

> 40. Browser Extensions2 ?

available on all ios devices.

many of those extensions are content blockers, which you incorrectly
claim do not exist on ios.

there are also other types of extensions, in particular, share
extensions, which can add assorted functionality to other apps.

> 41. eBook Readers ?

nonsense.

ios *includes* an ebook reader, plus there are *many* third party ones
available.

> 42. NMEA Data ?
> 43. Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP) ?

spp is obsolete.

> 44. Always on Display2 ?

minor, and rumoured to be in the next wave of iphones.

> 45. Multiple Users2 ?

not needed on a phone. that's just stupid.

> 46. Ability to close all open apps at once ?

there is never a need to do that. ever. however, if someone *really*
needs to do that, they can shut down the phone.

*if* an app crashes, then it is sometimes useful to force-quit that one
app, but that's about it.

> 47. Ability to set default apps ?

ios can do that.

> 48. Customization ?

vague.

> 49. File exchange via Bluetooth ?

much too slow to be of any use.

> 50. Getting to settings ?

wtf is wrong with you?

tap on the settings icon. duh.

another option is use control center to change commonly used settings.

> 51. Create icons that give direct access to specific websites,
> documents, or photos ?

available on all ios devices since day one.

not only that, but what you call icons can now do a helluva lot more
than just access specific websites, documents or photos.

you literally have *no* clue about what ios can do or you would not
write this.

> 52. Choice of App Launchers ?
> 53. Android Earthquake Alert System ?

ios has that

> 54. Android Auto is Better than Apple CarPlay ?

it is not. it's a matter of preference.

> 55. Android ELS (Emergency Locator Service) ?

ios has that, and for those who have an apple watch, it is invoked
automatically if the user falls and is unresponsive.

> 56. Superior Computational Photography2 ?

nope.

> 57. Battery Percentage Indicator ?

you're *really* grasping.

FACTS.

*Apple owners say this because they're _ignorant_ of how Android updates.*

Look at the FACTS from badgolferman's thread which show a lot of iPhone
owners _believe_ this bullshit of the longer OS updates.

It's just dead wrong.
Any time apologists claim this it just proves how ignorant they truly are.

Here's just one sentence of facts, showing _seven_ years of Android updates:
"This kind of system app, constantly kept up-to-date in the background,
*supported on devices released seven or more years ago*, and with
permission to do basically anything, is a powerful tool in Google's
Android security arsenal."
<https://www.androidcentral.com/why-android-security-fearmongering-bs>

The fact is that almost all of Android is now updated forever (where there
is no EOL date) over Google Play, even the Qualcomm hardware drivers.

By way of contrast, iOS is using an archaic primitive monolithic update that
no other consumer operating system uses today as it's laughably outmoded.

Alan Baker, Alan Browne, Chris, Haemactylus, Joerg Lorenz, Jolly Roger,
Lewis, nospam, Rod Speed, Savageduck, Wade Garrett, Wolffan, Your Name,
et al. are all ignorant of the fact Android is updated asynchronously.

FACTS.

In badgolferman's thread discussing ignorant things Apple users say about
Android, they predicted you'd say _exactly_ what you just said, nospam.

*Why Android security fearmongering is total BS*
<https://www.androidcentral.com/why-android-security-fearmongering-bs>

"At the same time, in 2021 the old stereotype of Android being rife with
malware and firmware exploits is further from the truth than it's ever
been. And direct comparisons with the iOS update model overlook important
parts of Google Android like Play Services and Project Mainline."

*Android is the most security-driven operating system in the world*
<https://www.androidcentral.com/security-not-privacy-and-you-can-have-one-without-other>

"Android itself is one of the most secure operating systems in existence.
Its open-source nature and frequent security audits by some of the best
people in the field mean updates to keep Android secure happen at a rapid
pace, and Google even spends millions every year paying people who find
security exploits and submitting them to the Android security team.
Simply put, Android is so secure because so many eyeballs are looking
at it."

Everything apologists claim about Android is due solely to their ignorance.

Apple News+ is far better than any other app. You get paid content from
a very large number of excellent magazines which would cost you a lot of
money if you subscribed to each magazine that you wanted individually.
I'm hoping that they'll bring the support that Texture had, for Windows
and Android, back to Apple News+. After all, if they offer paid Apple
Music subscriptions on all platforms they could also offer paid Apple
News+ subscriptions on all platforms.

> What is 20?

20 is a joke, as it clearly states in the text.

> Only you care about 23.

You should go look at the subreddit for Visible
<https://www.reddit.com/r/Visible/>. A oft-discussed topic is the
compatibility of devices and whether or not a specific Android device
that is not in the list of compatible devices actually works, as well as
which versions of some devices that are on the list have issues.

With the iPhone there is no such concern, everything from the 6 on
works, see
<https://www.androidcentral.com/what-android-phones-are-compatible-visible>.

And BTW, personally I don't care. I don't have Visible and I'm unlikely
to get it.

Nobody on Android is pining for Apple news.

There is plenty of functionality on Android impossible on iOS.
But news isn't one of them.

The reason is simple. The market provides the functionality unless Apple
restricts it (where Google can't restrict it). Bingo. It's that simple.

As a result of that simple logic, there will always be functionality on
Android that is impossible to find on iOS via the Apple App Store.

Apple doesn't restrict news.
Hence, both platforms have news.

Steve and others could wax eloquently forever who has the _best_ news.
But both have news.

Nobody on Android is pining for Apple news.

don't realize Apple restricts app functionality, while Google can't.
