Discussion with that Trump clone is useless.

Yeah, I know. That's why I only talk *to* it, not discuss with it.

Nah. It's our European version of nospam. We should cherish it.

But seriously, I only killfile (read: do not even download) only the
very worst. Currently only three in this group.

BTW, keep up the good work. Just like old times! :-)

In both WW1 and WW2, when the Germans occupied a country they changed
the country's time to German time.

Blödsinn. These things were already tested during WWI

Royal Society of New Zealand vor. Weder sein Vortrag noch die
Veröffentlichung seiner Ideen drei Jahre später[8] fanden damals
Anklang, so dass er bald in Vergessenheit geriet.

Postkarte zur Einführung der Sommerzeit in Deutschland am 30. April 1916
(Deutsches Uhrenmuseum, Archiv, Inv. 100318)
Aufgrund der praktischen Schwierigkeiten z. B. beim länderübergreifenden
Eisenbahnverkehr ist es kein Zufall, dass die erstmalige Einführung der
Sommerzeit in den *Ersten Weltkrieg* fällt:

Accept the fact that only ver very old - basically the first ones
produced - cannot adjust to time zones. That is a fraction of a percent
of the total population if at all.

You are trolling, dear Piet.

Yes, the Nazis did a lot of things for economic and practical reasons.

Well, when I am in the kitchen to see the time I have to pick the phone
from some table (exact spot forgotten), flip the cover off and tap it,
or raise my eyes to the wall. The later is faster :-)

In my kitchen there is a clock on the microwave, a clock on the oven, a
clock on the coffee maker, and a clock on the rice cooker, and a clock
on the toaster oven/air fryer. So I don't really need yet another
kitchen clock.

Fastest of all is to look at your watch!

In 2007 I bought a Casio G-Shock at Costco for $25 with a solar battery
and the ability to pick up the atomic clock signals from Ft. Collins CO.
The strap is still in fine condition, but some of the black plastic on
the watch frame has chipped off. I stopped wearing it in favor of the
Amazfit that keeps track of steps and sleep, but it's been working in
spite of being on a shelf in view of the living room lights rather than
my wrist.

I tried wearing two watches on my left wrist, but that sucked. I HATE
having anything on my right wrist or hand. I really MISS the Casio. So
few things actually work the way they're supposed to now. I'd be
willing to bet that I could replace the case if I really wanted to...

Cheers, Bev
If I gave a shit, you'd be the first one I'd give it to.

These Casios were the greatest invention after the mechanical wrist
watch at the beginning of the 20th century. I bought a GW-M5610-1ER in
2017. It looks like the first original from 1983. I use it for all heavy
duty work and sports. It is so rugged it would survive an encounter with
a Mack-Truck. It can receive 6 bands and can be used around the globe
and adjusted to any time zone the user wants.

The more elegant side of this radio controlled watches is my Junghans
Milano Mega Solar.

Today I wear mostly mechanical watches which are also my (expensive)
hobby. Watches are the only legitimate Jewellery a white man in the
western world can wear always and everywhere.

I usually wear two mechanical watches one at the left wrist and one at
the right. So called smart watches are something for uniformed slaves
and I have this phase in my life already behind me. ;-)

I have one on the µW, much smaller than any kitchen clock, and showing
00:00 since the last power failure.

Not an automatic clock, which was the point of using a tablet. Nor
battery backed.

The instruction books are useless without a microscope. I downloaded a
..pdf, which is much handier. I think mine was so cheap because it has
three useless round indicators that occupy space that could be used by
LARGER digits. Still...

I've worn a watch all my life starting when I was maybe 10. My dad kept
books for a watchmaker who would give him one every once in a while,
which he passed on to me. A bare left wrist feels alien. Same with my
left ring-finger.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Picture yourself near a stream.
Birds are singing in the crisp, cool mountain air.
Nothing can bother you here.
No one knows this secret place.
You are in total seclusion from
that place called the world.
The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall
fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is crystal clear.
You can easily make out the face of the person
whose head you're holding under the water.

My wrist feels comfortable without that weight. And my cell has more
features than the watch would ever have.

Still, one day I will set the time on the watch. Or take it to the shop
so that they do it for me.

Mine has mechanical hands.
Date is one day ahead, hour one hour slow or so :-?

I'll have to see if the minute hand is moving correctly.

Reading the back of my watch:

Casio
telememo 30
world time
3 alarm
count down timer

[2747] AW-80
Stainless steel back
water resistant 5bar

Japan mov't DH
cased in China

I had to use my phone camera as lenses to read all that. Not only tiny
letters but little contrast.

I see videos for this clock, no pdf yet.
I never used that memo function, I just wanted analog movement with a
small digital display for the date and chronometer.
