You'd have to like ginger. Lots of ginger. I think
that ginger must be "in season" now because ALDI
had it cheap, and it was also really cheap at the
Mexican grocery.

I used my new knife to cut up the beef. It arrived
super sharp. I only used it on the beef and the
peppers, then washed it, stropped it, and put it
away. I used one of my older knives for the rest,
but I stropped that one well first, and it cut better
than when it was new. Makes me want a cheapo
Harbor Freight bench grinder.

I don't know if sweet potato fries are different, but
regular French fries lose their appeal quickly after
coming out of the fryer. By the time they got
delivered, they'd be far past their "best by" time.

All for only $81.

"Can't cook worth a shit!"

$81 would feed me for a week. 2 meals for you.

And the fried squid would be even worse.

Never order fried food to be delivered. Sheesh!

Invest in one of these.
I've got either model 130 or 1520 without going and pulling it out of the
cabinet. It aligns the knife perfectly for sharpening. If you have a Bed,
Bath, and Beyond near you and a 20% off coupon will most likely get
you the best price.

I have a sharpener with the same design but different colour. I got it
at Bass Pro Shop about 5 years ago and I have been very happy with it.
Every once in a while I get it out when a knife needs a touch up and
while it is out I do all the others. It takes less than a minute to get
a good sharp edge on a knife. I can do my chefs knives, my carving
knife, the paring knifes and even my ceramic knives.

According to the whole multiverse thing, there are
innumerable universes where I would spend that much
on a knife sharpener, but this is not one of them.

He doesn't own one, never used one, and really has no idea of how
it works. So of course it ruins good cutlery.

Steve. It was red pepper. It already had a huge
amount of ginger. Note at the upper left hand
corner of the photo, a bottle with a characteristic
shape.

Now, look at this photo, taken a few minutes ago.

There's that shape again, and it's on the bottom
of a bottle of cayenne pepper.

Next time you should think twice before accusing
me of lying. Now, be a good boy, and finish your

It does sharpen. It's just a finer grit than you'll find
in a "sharpener."

There might be some truth in what Sheldon says.
Without googling (Cindy can do that) I seem to remember
that electric knife sharpeners can overheat your knife blade
and ruin the "temper."

I prefer slower sharpening.
I still have an old "wet stone" from my Boy Scout days.

I would like to get better and easier though.
This one looks good to me and is CHEAP! :)
https://chefschoice.com/collections/knife-sharpener/products/chefschoice-diamond-hone-knife-sharpener-model-478

I remember in 2016, Notbob (remember him?) found an "AccuSharp" for
under $10 and raved about it. He bought it at True Value hardware store.

IMO, silly to spend hundreds of dollars for a knife sharpener.
