You like to snork often. Not good for your reputation.

Ignore him. You post vile things too. This is not really a cooking
newsgroup anymore. Dream on.

She criticises the other extreme ("kid gloves") as if there's no
middle ground, as if it's either kid gloves or group bullying. I
forgot what the name for that miserable discussion technique was.

My son's girlfriend has to tell her dad that he shouldn't be driving anymore. That's a tough job!

It will happen to all of us.

But we won't notice because in the future,
everything will be delivered by drone,
including people via drone-taxi.

Who can tell? "People age 70 and older are more likely to crash than any other age group besides drivers age 25 and younger. "

My SiL wanted me to pull some strings to get her father's license
pulled. He is still driving at 93 and I have to say it could be scary to
ride with him. Losing a driver license is a major loss for senior
citizens. It means the of loss mobility and independence.

Somewhere around the house I have an old copy of our Ministry of
Transportation Road Safety Report. It has a chart that tracks the crash
per distance driven by sex and age group. It shows that young male
drivers have quite a few crashes (per 100,000 km driven). Young females
have start off with a slightly better rate. However, the males improve
quickly and pretty soon they are better than the females. In their 30s,
40s and 50s male rates are lower than females. Both sexes show in
increase in crash rates as they head into their 60s with the female rate
rising a lot faster than the rate for males, the curve is steeper into
the 70s and by their 80s the rates are skyrocketing.

There are also those who do not fit the stats. My father taught me to
drive aged 12 as the Tokyo traffic didn't agree with my mother. I
have never had an accident, the only trouble I have had was a truck
that ran into the back of me several years ago when I stopped at a
STOP sign, and when a drunk backed down my drive and into the front of
my car.

I don't have a big SUV I don't need, have a small Mazda 2 and my main
problem now is all the SUVers opening theirs doors in parking lots and
slamming them into my poor little car. It is lined with dents done
this way :(

I will know when to forfeit my licence and will do so at that time.

I don't post about masturbation or shaving my private parts. When I
post about cooking suddenly there are the idiots (usually GM and Bryan)
who make personal attacks on me in a most disgusting and childish
manner. What's this about *my* reputation? LOLOL What, "boys will be
boys?" Bullshit.

Not always. If they are just after money, either inheritance
or insurance, they will say: "Take my car! Here's the keys!"

Neither in my case lol I tell them I no longer tell them what to do
and it certainly isn't their business to tell me what I will do!

I've thought about that day may come. I make a trip north a few times a
year, mostly up the east coast on I95. I wonder if some day I will
stop, call home and ask "I'm at the sign that says Welcome to Arizona,
do I go left or right?"

At 90, my father was a very good driver but the heavy traffic on the
road to the supermarkets etc (London to Felixstowe container port) was
getting too him. He sold his car at 92 so Sis and I didn't have to take
his licence.

I'm sure that a distant cousin wouldn't mind a job as a chauffeur.

I used to see people in their 90's in my office. If they told me they were still driving, I would go out and watch them leaving. One guy had a small truck that was full of dents. I thought he should have quit driving but I'm not going to to tell him that. I went out to monitor him once and was alarmed to see that he had parked next to my car. Boy, he took quite a while to inch out of the space - I was holding my breath the whole time.

Uncle, how much money did yoose make, after selling that old guy a
hearing aide?

Was he an ignorant mainlander, or did yoose give him the special

My Dad made wide corners when he turned the car. He was looking old.
Some people didn't like him, since he was the D A for nineteen years and
made some enemies.
Complaints were made about his driving, and he was forced to take a complete
drivers test. He passed. I think I still have his last driver's license.
He looks angry in the photo. He drove, accident free, during his final
years, and may have driven himself to the hospital for his final stay.
