And there you do it.... AGAIN! You just love lying. Maybe time
for road trip myself...

Nobody sucks up to anybody on reddit, especially not me. Each post
is taken afresh at it's own face value. It's not like there's
only a dozen participants/contributors to keep track of.

How about dinner and a nightcapping at your house, Mikey? Send
your daughter to Mommy's that night.

Yeah, this was the combo shot. We're still blinded as to wether it
was split between two arms or all in one arm, but obviously I was
in the later group - judging by the pain in the one arm and
absolutely nothing in the other arm (placebo).

They advertise on TV getting them each the same day (in different
arms). But combining them into a single shot still isn't FDA
approved yet. Which is where I come into this...

I'm done for a while. I had thought I was getting my flu and Covid19
booster at the same time on Friday but their communication had been
confusing. As it turned out they had me scheduled only for the flu shot
and did not have any others scheduled for Covid. I got the flu shot in
the left arm and she booked me for the Covid19 booster on Monday. I got
that one in the right arm. The flu shot had not hurt at all. The Covid19
shot was a little painful later on and a little tender yesterday. It's
fine today, and I have had no other issues.... no sniffles, no coughing,
no upset guts, no fever.

This was Covid19 shot number 6 for me. I am one of the lucky ones who
has avoided it. A lot of people around me have had it, some more than
once. One guy has had it 5 times.

Mostly, the pain comes from the way it was injected, not the particular
chemistry of the shot. Your muscle mass comes into play, as well as how
much pressure in pushing on the syringe.

My doc prescribed some Ozempic to get a little better handle on my A1C. Boy, was that an ordeal. You take it once a week which is a pretty good deal but it made me nauseous and dizzy. The good news, I suppose, is that I only vomited once. I can handle muscular pain alright but I didn't emerge from the house for a couple of days and stayed flat on my back. I'm still a little shaky. I'm glad I tried the drug - it's always better to know than to not know. Or is it?

The last I heard that stuff was hard to get because so many people are
using it for weight loss that the supply can't keep up with the demand.
I know a guy who had to lose weight to have a hernia operation.
Meanwhile he was diagnosed with diabetes. He started taking Ozempic and
dropped 50 lb.

It might be a wonder drug but it's not for me. My understanding is that one problem is that when you're off the drug, your desire for food gets to be insatiable. I was a bit like that last week but my lack of appetite has returned. That's a good thing.

That may be, but it may not be much different from other diets. I have
dieted in the past and lost weight and did just fine until I had some
sugar, and then my conscience disappeared and I was well on my way to
making up for all the sugar I had deprived myself of for weeks.

i like the more personal version instead which goes
"Treat people how they would like to be treated."

as then it implies that you actually get to know
them before assuming things about them.

not that i always live up to that, but it's a way
of getting out of my own limited view and asking people
what's up.

Don and I are scheduled to have both (5th Covid) on the 22nd. Neither
of us have had Covid, best we can tell.

Since so many people have had it, some of them not seriously ill, I have
to wonder if perhaps I may have had it but symptoms were so very mild I
missed them.

I haven't had it, but someone who did, told me that, for a few days,
she felt a bit tired, had a mild headache and her baby cried more than
normal. That was all. Easy to miss.

That thought has certainly crossed my mind. During the first year of the
pandemic, I had a sore throat (one of the covid symptoms) for about a
day. I've often wondered if that was a mild attack.
However, although I had the sixth shot last April (2nd bivalent) I had a
full-on bout of covid in September - presumably the new variant.
I'll get another booster after xmas.

I know 3 people with it in the past couple of months and it was mild for
them. Fortunately, it has changed quite a bit. Still people die from
it though.

What are the 3 new Covid symptoms?
3 New COVID-19 Symptoms to Watch For
On June 30, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention added three
symptoms to its COVID-19 list: Congestion/stuffy nose, nausea and
diarrhea. Those three new conditions now join other symptoms identified
by the CDC: Fever

My friend and his wife were probably the most careful throughout the
pandemic but managed to get it. In September they went on a river cruise
in France and caught again over there. They both tested positive but
symptoms were mild enough that they were able to carry on. They were
just a little under the weather for a couple days.

Weren't those the symptoms of Covid for the last three years?

Going on a river cruise in a country you need to fly to, is hardly
what I'd call "most careful". On the contrary, it's asking for it.

It would be no different than going on a guided tour. But there's no panic now
as was in the first month/year of Covid, so why not go??

A year back (fully vaccinated) we both had something
we identified as a mild and short-lived "summer cold"
without suspecting it was covid. A couple of days later

where we wore masks/took all precautions but others did
not.
