I'm not really, I have never seen our team so inept in attack, it
wasn't realistic to scrape through on penalties once again.
There will always be something, I got used to it.

I meant the 1994 match Argentina – Romania. The Argentines received a penalty doubted then by some American TV commentators.

Still in 2022, the first penalty in favor of Argentina was decided in the Saudi Arabia match. Some pundits voiced doubts about that decision. The English had a much clearer situation against Iran — but England did NOT get the penalty!

Why would Wright say that they didn't check the VAR? That's 100% not true.

Many people, including “experts”, have the wrong impression that VAR can ALWAYS override the referee. NOT!! Only the software that determines the offside position EXACTLY can overturn the referee in scoring situations. In potential-penalty situations, the referee may or may not “accept” a VAR “advice” to review the play.

In American football (NFL) “the booth” request for a review is always mandatory. Still, the referee will say over the PA system: “After further review, there was no irrefutable evidence to overturn the call on the field”.

They said this on HT, but I went to check what their refereeing expert
Peter Walton said right
after the situation:
"goalkeeper is far too late and impedes the progress of the forward"

also for the card, it's only yellow because goalkeeper attempts to play
the ball,
otherwise it would be a red card for denial.
