I usually avoid politics in this type of group, but I felt so bad at the
time of the election I could not give either major party candidate my
vote. At the time Biden's son's laptop was in the news and apparent
connections to Biden himself were conveniently being ignored. I don't
care too much if Biden's son was crooked but it seems he was able to get
favors from Dad. Trump appeared to be becoming more unhinged, Biden
seemed senile. But when the Capitol was overrun, I realized we got the
better of the two awful choices. I still fear what the next 3 1/2 years
will bring.

Trump started "Operation Warp Speed" which was goodness but later played
down Covid and the vaccines even though he got Covid himself. So now so
many of his followers won't get vaccinated so Covid is still a problem.
Many of them will be winning or have won Darwin awards from that.

Dono, something with this clue that you gave is not right.

As far as I know, the only country where communism tried to gain power after the fall of fascism (Mussolini) was Italy, since 1946.
Since that year, and up to its dissolution in 1991, the PCI had peaked with more than 2 million affiliates. It was the largest communist
party in the West and the only political party that fought against Mussolini. Massimo D'Alema (age 72 now) was the first former
member of the PCI to became First Minister (1998-2000), and by then he had moved to the more moderated social democrat PDS,
formed by 1991 (he was 42 by then).

The fight between PCI and Christian Democracy (the largest political party) took place, at Italy, between 1946 and 1991.

So, if you claim that you did fight against communism, it should be in between that time span.

But it doesn't fit with your post in the mathematics place here, about 2006, asking how to solve a differential equation (I assume
that you was a student 15 years ago and, perhaps, around 20 to 22 yo).

Being that your claim of being personally involved in the fight on communism after the fall of fascism, it would put you close in
age with Massimo D'Alema (72), and living in Italy by mid '60s. So, if this could be so, then you was studying math at college
being 50 yo or close.

So, the doubts that come to my mind are:

1) Did you tell the truth about your fight against communism, but it happened at Italy? Your age should be around 70.
2) Did you tell the truth about your fight against communism, but it happened at USA in the ´50s? Same age.
3) Did you lied about your fight against communism, and you're about 40?

There is a 30 years gap between both scenarios, and the fight that you cited only happened in few western countries,
mainly at Italy, USA and (to a lesser degree) at UK and France (forget Spain after Franco's death).

That’s right. Just based on issues, there is plenty room for disagreement
on the path forward, and plenty room for disagreement on who should lead on
that path. There is no political party that aligns with what I wish had
happened or with what I wish would happen, and that’s extremely common.

There is NO path forward in this country for a wannabe fascist who foments
insurrection. It’s an unforgivable, that-tears-it,
here-are-the-divorce-papers-just-sign-it-and-leave moment. It was a fatal
mistake stemming from a fatal lapse of character.

People cheered in the streets when Mussolini took power. The *same* people
torched him in the streets when he was removed from power. There are not
many fascist leaders who survived their tenure. Any wannabe fascist who is
allowed to survive should be grateful to be on the streets.
