well. 20/20 all the way! Injections into my eyes give me a queasy
feeling. Not sure if I could handle it without freaking out a bit... Wow.

Actually, I starting thinking about what I would do if I started to lose
my eyesight, slowly but surely. At the final stages of blindness, I
would not be able to see any of my fractals. Should still be able to
type because I do not have to look down at the keyboard, even when
programming... However, I would need some sort of aid, a friend(s),

I mean if you start already with h(x,n)=e^x = (1+nx)^(1/n),
its not so difficult to turn this into g(x,N)=e^x = (1+x/N)^N,
and then use the algebraic insight that you have already,

i.e. derivative of raising to power by N, chain rule,
and derivative of a constant factor:

g'(x,N) = N*(1+x/N)^(N-1)*(1/N)
= (1+x/N)^(N-1)
= g(x,N) / (1+x/N)

Now you have to have a lemma, that for f(x) = lim N->oo g(x,N),
we have lim N->oo g'(x,N) = f'(x). Can we prove that?
With this lemma we ultimately get:
f'(x) = lim n->oo g(x,N) / (1+x/N)
= f(x) / 1 = f(x)

So the derivative is d (e^x)/dx = e^x.

Thanks Chris! I am hopeful of a positive outcome. I can't explain how disconcerting it is to see everything blurred. My left eye is a lazy eye, so I only use the right eye which has this big blur over everything I see.
