Anyone else trying to figure out what the tracker(s) linked from the contest website are showing? Not only are the IDs all obfuscated (unless I'm missing something), but the quality of the tracker overall is weak. The last Worlds had such fantastic real-time viewing options; this kinda sucks in comparison.

Is there any alternative site besides the ones on the contest Website?

How are you displaying usable IDs; i.e. who is who? Also, the tracker doesn't seem to have the task information (start time, speed achieved, etc.). Is it just my user error?

Clicking the numbered tag gives plenty of information except who the pilot is.

Thanks Phlyi.. I'm still in the dark about following the individual pilot comp numbers on tracking.

This was surprise to us when the task started. we have it sorted. I will post Contest ID/Tracker Number when I verify the data in the morning.

A better option in my opinion is glideandseek.com. Once you are on that site, you can either pull in the task you're interested in by entering the soaringspot task url, or click on the soarscore.com link provided in the task icon and it will give you the option of displaying the task of the day of pretty much any registered contest.
There's a better display of glider current & past metrics during flights.

Thanks; most likely. There are photo pages for each class, but not everyone is covered.

Tim Taylor appears to be 2nd for the day in the 15m class with Kawa in 1st. Fun to run both their IGC files in SeeYou to study their runs; even more interesting if you sync their start-times. Great for Tim.

Winglets and/or different all-up weights.

Each type has a defined reference weight, and from there the handicapping varies in bands of 10 kg (or did when I looked a couple of years ago)

Thus we see for example that the PIK 20B has a slightly higher handicap than the later D version, not because it's deemed to be better, but because it was heavier before they introduced the carbon spar cap.

Some keen pilots add a few kg of lead to make up to just below the next weight band.

That is what the weather has been like in some parts of Europe. It doesn't mean it is always like that.

In the UK we have had several days of 7000' cloudbase (temperature minus 8 deg C) in April and 3500' or worse in August

Some friends did 500+ km 8 or 9 days in a row months ago, but only flying a couple of days a week just recently. Maybe next week will be better ...
