The judge, in his wisdom, declined the obvious death
penalty for killing 8 cyclists, European tourists who had
just been passed in the bike lane by our customer (whose
life was spared by inches).

If premeditated mass murder by a man yet unrepentant (even
defiant) after over five years later doesn't warrant
execution I couldn't imagine what does. There are no
disputes of fact in the case. WTF?

Remember this is the same Alvin Bragg who Krygowski and Slocomb hold in high respect because they think that illegally prosecuting Trump is an admirable thing.

Alvin Bragg has his own sins but terrorist cases are heard
in Federal Court (which still nominally has a death option.
Sometimes.)

But way down at the bottom of the article it states, "A jury in March
was hung on whether to give Saipov the death sentence and so he will
instead get the lighter penalty of life in prison."

Apparent it wasn't officers of the court, it was citizens serving on
the jury.

WTF is right. There are supposed to be mitigating circumstances for not applying the maximum penalty for such multiple murders, and the judge is supposed to state them. Lack of repentance and defiance are contra-indications to mitigation. -- AJ

It was one action (arguably legal) on which 34 payments were
made. Mr Bragg separated the individual checks, over years,
to make "43 counts". Several other prosecutors, including Mr
Bragg earlier, decided no crime was committed.

Apologies. Both numbers should be 34 (not 43).

As my brain deteriorates I have digital dyslexia when typing

I suspect that in the eyes of the court that was 43 events.
And, unless I read it wrong, it wasn't for the actual payment it was
for finagling corporate accounts.

"Donald J. Trump pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to 34 felony counts of
falsifying business records in the first degree, all of which are tied
to the former president’s role in a hush-money payment to a porn star,
Stormy Daniels."

Just watched a video of Alan Dershowitz a lawyer of towering repute and a Hillary Clinton financial supporter say that Alvin Bragg totally invented a new crime charging Trump. He insinuated that Alvin Bragg should be disbarred for his actions.

Mr Dershowitz wrote last week that opinion was based on Mr
Bragg having charged a Federal crime in a NY State court.

I have the greatest respect for Mr Dershowitz, but he's approaching this from the narrow perspective of looking at whether Fatso has a chargeable case, and comes to the same conclusion as previous prosecutors, including Bragg himself, that there is no chargeable case.
>
This is immoral lawfare to harass a political opponent and make it impossible for him to run for office or, once in office, to perform his duties or even to hire executives who know that for the rest of their lives they will be at the mercy of corrupt prosecutors trying to make a name for themselves, precisely like Fatso.

It is immoral and shouldn't be permitted. Fatso should be debarred as a warning to other politically biased prosecutors.

The only actual description of the alleged crime I've come across is
https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/alvin-bragg-can-make-case-trump-committed-felonies-rcna78392
Which seems to say that the classifying of the so called "bribes" as
legal expenses is a felony if it can be shown that the falsification
of records was intended to conceal or commit crime.
Also see more details
https://news.yahoo.com/manhattan-da-outlines-charges-against-205621035.html
As an aside, I believe the indictment was actually handed down by the
Grand Jury (for whatever that is worth :-)

Dershowitz stated in an interview, can't remember which video - that it was NOT a Federal Crime and the Alvin Bragg charge was entirely made up and not the law anywhere. That there is NO LAW against anyone paying anyone hush money if they do it willingly. He also said that if there was, that half of congress would be guilty. And he is in a position to know the facts and not the wild eyed dreams of the intensely stupid 4.

Are you stupid? Or just lying?

The Grand Jury returned an indictment for the crime of falsifying
company accounts, which is a crime in New York, and probably
everywhere else, for that matter.

True the falsification was apparently done to cover up bribes paid to
some woman but that is not the crime that Trump is charged with.

Yes and no. You skipped some important points.

Mr Bragg's charges rely on a NY Statute which makes
falsifying internal accounts a crime _if done in furtherance
of another crime_.

(Multiple investigations have not found errors in tax
reporting, Fed or State, so it's only internal documents at
issue.)

He posits that the entire adventure was an unreported
campaign contribution, invoking Federal law for that. FEC
already investigated that and ruled it was not a violation.

You have to remember that Slocomb is part of the Stupid 4 and has absolutely no idea of what a Grand Jury is, or how it is so easily manipulated simply by not allowing ANY defense of the accused. And this is precisely what Fatso did. And some complete fool like Slocomb assumes that a Grand Jury indictment is an actual trial and he is too stupid to know that it only means that the majority of 16 people thought that there was sufficient evidence to have a REAL trial.

The sheer ignorance of the Stupid 4 is breathtaking.

The prevalence of prosecutors persuading a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich is notorious. Surely even the stupid four must have heard about it.

But what concerns me more than stupid people on an obscure cycling conference being... well, stoooopid beyond belief, is that the judge not throwing the case out at first sight is truly gross political bias. That's even more dangerous than Fatso making a fool of himself. Also worth considering is the related question: Where does a man of the achievements of Mr Trump, of any president, find a jury of his peers?

The FISA courts have again and again proven to be anti-American in every move they make. They MUST be completely eliminated and the normal court processes used to investigate, if necessary actual terrorism suspects. At this point we know of NO actual terrorists that have been caught by the FISA process but millions of cases where it was abused for political purposes.

This has occurred literally millions of times under the watch of Christopher Wray and he should be held liable for felony unconstitutional actions by the FBI. Anyone that supports Wray should be immediately held in suspicion and their entire background both investigated and made completely public. It is time to drain the swamp for good.

By gorry, you are right Tommy.

Of course the FISA court is faulty, just as the FBI is, and probably
the CIA. And of course the police forces of all states and cities are
wrongfully oppressing Blacks and even worse a large number of people
are incarcerated (jailed) in the U.S.

In fact there is a movement in California to close all prisons and
"Essie Justice Group is committed to ushering in an era of prison
closures and mass releases of our incarcerated loved ones. This
specifically means that we are working to close all of California’s 35
prisons in a way that results in each prison closing permanently and
all of our incarcerated loved ones being released."

If we could just get rid of those lousy law enforcement people life in
the U.S. would be heavenly.

The FBI made a quarter million investigations of US citizens
under tainted 'FISA' warrants despite the actual statute
prohibition. FISA was enabled to surveil only foreign
nationals and only outside the USA. Besides the FBI
activity itself, FISA judges passed on all of those
requests. This is a deeper failure than 'a few bad apples'.

On a good day, Slocomb's IQ almost makes it to 1. He knows nothing about the American legal system and never did. He believes that he can use the Air Force system as an example. Which leads me to believe that he was Courts Marshalled at one time of another.
