Knowing that neither you nor Will like your histories being written about here, I've left his NGBS stories about you alone up to now, and concentrated on his stories about Rachel and myself. The downside of that is that his stories have been repeated, not just by him, over and over for five years, and ended up being confused with truth by the stupid people here.

Both those stories are blatantly false. I can't do that much with the one about Will's wife, since I'd have to rely on what I've learned outside the group, and I respect the confidentiality that we enjoy. For his story about you, though, that's not a consideration, as I don't have to rely on anything but what's been posted here. Frankly, I would like to top-post a rebuttal to it -- as with some of his stories about me, that would be a way to deal with it in the future without endless discussion, simply by reposting the link. (And of course I'd post it to RAP as well, in case the aapc post vanishes as mysteriously as some of my other OPs have here.)

As well, of course I wouldn't open any threads on that without your permission, which is why I'm talking about it here, to get your opinion on that.

That's not what "stupid" means; stupid means not using your own mind to think about things. In this example, it means believing whatever you hear all the time (as with "Edward Rochester's" NGBS stories). That has nothing to do with being a newbie. However, your being a newbie does explain your being confused about how many sides there are. Anyone involved in the "crossfire" will tell you that there are just two "sides" -- either "Team Donkey," and everyone else on the group who takes shots at them; or "Team Monkey," and everyone else on the group who isn't shooting at the same people as they are.

"On display" was a reasonable inference. It is not reasonable to think that the LoC has kept your "work" in its collection for more than 30 years without ever having it on public display, even once. (There might be some exceptions -- say, some secret intelligence material that's still classified -- but those probably would not be in the LoC in the first place.) As well, I think you simply jumped on that word as a "deflection," to try to cover up what part of your statement you were really mocked for:
