I'm in Vancouver and saw Pavel Bure play here (and in his prime he was
great) so I'm pretty sure I know how to pronounce the family name
(grin) and yes I knew about Valeri who as you say was a perfectly good
NHL player though not at all in the superstar class.

Obviously 20 years later neither are front line pro hockey players but
still respected.

I had forgotten about Valeri and wasn't sufficiently motivated to work
it out on Google....
