Again, because I remember more than one discussion of "Lord of the Flies" here.

I'll check the archives when time permits.

Really? I don't remember this one:

I do have to admit that I don't remember "Piggy's" real name from the book; So I looked it up at Golding.org, but they don't seem to know it either: "What is most interesting about Piggy is that we never find out his real name."
https://william-golding.co.uk/piggy-whats-in-a-name

I suppose they just need more "familiarity with the source," too. :D

Well, that' s the beginning of the record, anyway. To recap, and add the relevant dates:
(1) on Aug. 1, I, PJ Ross showed up and I addressed him as "Piggy";
(2) on Aug. 2, Piggy asked why I called him Piggy, and I explained. Mr. Monkey read my explanation and "laughed out loud.'.
(3) on Aug. 5, Mr. Monkey began calling Piggy "Piggy John-John Ross" (which he says is from /Lord of the Flies/).

But that's not the entire record; we've only just begun. Here's the monkey's next post, also from Aug. 5:
<quote>
Piggy John-John Ross:
<whinesnip>

MMP: And he cried "Wee! Wee! Wee!" all the way home.
</q>

What's the difference, Donkey? He referred to it in this discussion.

I quoted from "Lord of the Flies" in response to George's reference.

The only question is: Why did you suddenly decide to repost my quote for "Lord of the Flies"?

Stop lying, George. I realize that I'm asking the impossible, but you really need to stop.

I never said any such thing.

Um... that's another literary reference, George.

Hell, I think even our resident Donkey recognizes that one.

Actually, that's exactly what you claimed after I quoted you using the term "Piggy John-John Ross":
"The above passages were directly quoted from "Lord of the Flies.""
- and then later, to someone else:
"George doesn't appear to have recognized it, since he thinks I was joining him in calling people by childish, barnyard names."

So your first and second uses of "Piggy John-John Ross" were allegedly quoted from /Lord of the Fiies, while your third allegedly came from "This little piggy ...". Since I don't remember that name used in either source, and I really don't believe that anyone else does, either, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you for cites.

IIRC it was a quote from the 1963 version of the film.

The *quote* ("Then I shall call you Piggy, too. Piggy, Piggy, Piggy.") is from the 1963 film version of "Lord of the Flies."

The name "Piggy John-John Ross" is not.

You may recall (although, obviously, you don't) that I had been calling him "Peter John-John Ross." When you began calling him "Piggy," I changed "Peter John-John Ross" to "Piggy John-John Ross."

There is no "John-John" character in either the book or the film.

I hate to call you dense, Dance... but you really are quite the dunce.

As to the name, see above.

Hopefully I've explained it clearly enough for even you to understand.
