The good thing about the BBC is that the "promotions" are between
programmes. Once you do start watching something usually there's no
break in the middle of it. (I think they used to break up a programme
for the UK National Lottery draw on Saturday evenings but I haven't
seen them do that for a while.)

Apart from being a joke of a broadcaster, they have adverts of
course, plenty of them. Plus, they break-up films for the news
sometimes, mainly at the weekend. It's the likes of RTE that drive
people to the streaming services... as they broadcast shit.

Whether people like it or not, the majority of quality programming is
on the likes of Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ ... IMHO of course!

They do that for the Lotto live drawn on Saturdays here in New Zealand
too. Usually it's moronically stupid because they do it when there is
only a few minutes of the TV show to go. Stupid Lotto should just wait!

I don't know about regular BBC channels, but the BBC News channel (on
Sky TV here in New Zealand) definitely has advert breaks between and
within the shows, although they are only promos for other BBC News
shows.

We record everything and watch it later when we can just fast-forward
through all the stupid adverts.

Really annoying are the pop-up adverts *within* the show (especially on
the New Zealand channel "Three" and it's sister channels, because
they're hug pop-ups!). TV networks should not be allowed to ruin
someone else's work by covering it with their own pop-up adverts, or
squashing / speeding up the end credits. X-(
