Here in New Zealand, the government owns the TVNZ network, which has a
few free-to-air channels and on-demand streaming services, plus some
radio stations, all of which have advert breaks between and during
programmes or between radio songs. The number of advert breaks and
duration varies with the time of day (i.e. more and longer during peak
viewing times). They do not run commercial adverts on a few days like
Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, etc., but still have their own show promo
adverts.

All the other broadcast channels, including Sky TV, also have advert
breaks betweeena nd during shows, although some of the Sky TV channels
do just have promos for their own shows / other Sky TV channels.

Here some channels squash the credits to the side , some to the top or
bottom of the screen, and some even play the credits 'picture in
picture' style over the last scene(s) as the show is ending. All of
them are too small to read and highly irritating, especially if you
want to find out who played a character or what year it was made. X-(

the Internet to find out that information (Actors name/
Director/Writer/whatever) which means your eyes are *NOT* on the TV
