kits. I know the Poulenc concert quite well and I like it.

Your timeline is off by at least 20 years. The harpsichord was pretty much mainstream by 1950. Recordings by Ralph Kirkpatrick, Fernando Valenti, Sylvia Marlowe, Ruggero Gerlin - all on Major labels sold well.

I attended a series called “Great Harpsichordists” at Hunter College in NYC in the 60s surrounded by capacity audiences. Also the harpsichord was present in all sorts of pop music, movie scores and even Jazz recordings in the 60s. Check out Bruce Prince-Joseph’s recordings. E. Power Biggs recorded Scott Joplin rags in the 60s on his Challis harpsichord.

Also, Busoni owned one by Dolmetch and composed for it in the 20s.

According to Wolfgang Zuckermann in his book “The Modern Harpsichord”, there were 15 harpsichord firms in the US alone by 1955.

I've already answered this once, so I'll do it again. I meant what the words say - during my time as a psychologist I talked with around 3,000 people. How else am I going to talk to 3,000 people individually? I'm not a ticket collector or a checkout clerk? All I meant was that it was "during my time as a psychologist". OK - I can apologise and say I should have said "during my lifetime" if that makes you feel any better. Is that OK? Closure?
