be a medical doctor to know what to do to protect yourself from
the COVID-19 pandemic?

You just need to listen to the people who are recognized experts
in the field.

Greta Thunberg isn't a climate scientist herself. But when it comes to
the issue of anthropogenic global warming, she did have the basic
discernment which _is_ expected of every citizen; she listened to the
recognized experts, not the eccentrics, or the oil company shills, or the
conspiracy theorists.

I presume that you are male, which would be one error in his
comment.

You are certainly correct that, at present, Iceland does not have
the same temperatures as, say, the islands of the Carribean, where
people would head to go to the beaches in the winter. (Or even Florida.)

Of course, though, he was referring to what serious global warming
might cause. If the world's temperatures did rise that much, of course,
something like 98% of the world's population would die of starvation.

But there is another error in his comment. Long before the world got
that warm, Iceland would be underwater. Or at least enough of it that
it wouldn't have any good beaches.

seen. Was toasty warm.

Weather is not climate. They warmer days and cooler days year
round. But the averages are generaly in the 50s outside of winter.

That would be the Blue Lagoon on the Reykjanes Peninsula...about
which there was some mild concern in early 2021. Fortunately,
the lava flows went in a different direction.

It was probably the most watched and most visited eruption in--at
least--modern history. Mostly because of a combination of modern
tech (in the form of remote streaming cameras), proximity to a
major--for that country--city, and relatively short hike to quite
close to the volcano.

However, there is still long term concern since current best
guess is that the peninsula is in for as much as 200 years of off
and on active eruptions, based on its geological history.

weasel attention whore he is now, that training was, in fact, in
the field. I have no idea who "scarf lady" is, but I'll bet she

Personally, I think he did a piss poor job because he was too fond of
his moment in the spotlight, and too many years ad a professional
bureaucrat making him too aware of how much money can be extracted
form Congress during a crisis.

But even without any experience at actually treating patients, his
education, training and experience was in the correct field.

(Which, BTW, makes him far more blame-worthy for the massive economic
damage the panic he deliberately helped instill has caused. Thunberg
is too young, gullible and stupid to know better. Fauci does *not*
hae that excuse.)
