I don't like Toyota's. I had a Camry before I got the Magna, but I kept
if for less than two years because the seats were too uncomfortable, and
I didn't enjoy driving it much, but I have friends tho won't buy
anything other than Toyota or Lexus. nice car tho ..

it's a nice colour. it's called cashmere. I bought the four cylinder
model, and I paid extra for air conditioning, metallic paint, and tinted
windows. total cost was $27,700 brand new in January 2002, less my trade
in of my 1999 Hyundai Excel which they gave me $8,000 for, so it cost me
$17,700. later I paid $262 to have a towbar fitted. I traded it in on
the Magna in July 2005 and got $13,500 for it. so total cost of
ownership  for 3.5 years was $4,500, so annual costing of $1,300 pa in
round figures (plus servicing).  :)

Toyota did have quite a few rather powerful engines that would also hang
together (as long as Darren didn't work on them) and the Yaris GR is the
culmination of those efforts. They should do well in the rally space.

I'm glad you think so. The AE86 Corolla was a great car that has a very
well deserved cult following today. A great engine in a very good all
round package that was pretty bullet proof, but it was the last Corolla
that could be even remotely considered entertaining. Everything since
then has been fairly agricultural, and the Sportivo was no exception.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that every Toyota of whatever model
that has worn a "sportivo" badge has been nothing short of embarrassing.

Both of those were made quite some time ago.
Bloke who I used to buy carpet cleaning equipment from had a Twin Cam
Corolla parked in his factory, I offered to buy it from him several
times hoping that he didn't know much about it, he politely told me to
fuck off:-)
I think Corolla's are very good cars, certainly not exciting but that
can be said about the vast majority of today's cars.
Not sure if its been released in Australia yet ( next year?) but the new
GR Corolla with 220kw and AWD will certainly change things but at more
than $60K it won't be a volume seller.
