Line tests were done at least once a year. The NICAM circuita always
looked very good.

Others where there was a long chain of RBRs were not as good but OK.

It came in answer to someone who was claiming continental VHF FM
(possibly stereo) sounded much better than BBC ones.

Wasn't it sort of the other way round ? Most European broadcasters had
the country's PTT look after distribution and transmitters ?
The UK was odd, that the BBC and ITA looked after their own
transmitters, but the GPO looked after distribution, (except in cases
where they couldn't be bothered to ?)

I thiunk they could have afforded it, they would have prefered that no
one provided their own links.

I have a vague memory that there was a clause that the GPO could take
over a link provided someone else if they wanted to make it a GPO circuit.

Not if you're Christopher Hitchens. I don't know if all editions of
his book have the same cover design, but the cover on mine shows the
title as "god is not Great".

It's almost as if the only reason that capital G is there is to make
it clear that it isn't some trendy typeface that only has lowercase,
so you know that the lowercase g for god is deliberate.

If this design feature wasn't from the author himself, clearly whoever
did it must have read the book and understood it perfectly.

If that, why should the remaining 95% of we be expected to
accept their abnormalities as normal?

The BBC is particularly remiss in that direction. Why does it seem
to me that every entertainment series, such as the Sewing Bee, etc,
have a homosexual presenter?
