The local farm machinery dealer has a female mechanic, ex Army, and the
one I always ask to be given the job. No bullshit just does the job
quickly and well.

A motor factors near me employed only female drivers for a while, then a
few men applied for driving job. They were forced to change their policy
and now employ a mix.

I wonder how many men will start applying for job at this garage, and
fail, with the expected consequences?

I did wonder whether it's illegal for them to refuse to take on a male
mechanic. They are probably too savvy to be caught by that, though. They
don't need to give a reason for rejecting him, after all.

There is a company called Lady cabs, which only has female drivers. I
can see a market need (or perceived need) for that, so maybe they can
reasonably discriminate in taking on drivers?

The only possible way out would be for each to be a director as
directors are posts and not necessarily direct employees. Even so, I
would say they were on thin ice.

I expect she does. There is no reason why she cannot be excellent at her
job.
