Some people drink only bottled water because is is more pure. Well,
they think it, but not true.

See what researchers found when they tested a bottle of Fiji Water
against a glass of tap water.

Well, I guess that Cleveland showed them. Me, I don't buy into bottled
water hype. I might buy a bottle if I'm out and about feeling thirsty,
but I always drink the tap at home. Run the water for a couple of
minutes in the morning, because of the 120 some year old lead water
service line.

My daughter and her daughter like to keep their water bottles with them. These are metal insulated containers. It seems to be a important part of the kids these days - well, the females anyway.
Upworthy.com is a goofy site but kind of interesting because it gives an insight into the mind of the millennials. As far as bottled water goes, the boomers never understood the concept. It was mostly created by the genXer's to make some money. Mission accomplished.

Was rather stupid of Fiji to advertise and not do some checking first.

When I take my trip to NJ, it is about 30 hours, door to door, driving
and sleeping time. I take two SS bottles I fill at home, have a couple
of bought bottles frozen in a cooler and a couple not frozen. Same on
the return trip.

That is the only time I drink bottled water. In cities with off tasting
tap water, a filter usually fixes it. I did that in CT. The local
water flowing through 100 year old pipe was nasty, but a few years
later, pipes replaced.

It doesn't open for me but I never believed bottled water was great.
As early as the late 1970s and friend and I would walk along a beach a
few miles from our cottage and take garbage bags to fill them up with
plastic bottles, amongst other things. They were clearly dumped over
board by ships leaving Halifax Harbour, they have a lot to answer for.

A few years ago, I bought a 10 liter thingie with "All Natural
Australian Spring Water" from ALDI. It came with a spiel about how
this was fresh water from an unspoiled spring somewhere in the
highlands of whatever. It smelt heavily of chlorine.

It also depends on what comes out of your tap. I saw an item about
Dutch tap water and water filters. A scientist said that the quality
of the tap water is excellent and that the minute improvement that you
can achieve is dwarfed by the risk that you'll contaminate your tap
water by handling the filter incorrectly.

But the tap water of the place we'll move to in half a year, stinks
badly of chlorine. And I read that you smell chlorine the most when it
has a lot of work to do.

I never saw the point of bottled water either, other than having a
reasonable assurance of clean water when travelling. I would not be too
fast to blame the ships in the harbour for the bottles. They were more
likely discarded by the locals. People throw those things everywhere.
They end up in ditches and streams and eventually end up in the ocean.

Personally, I have seen a bigger problem in the ocean with tampon
applicators. I have to admit to have wondered how they could have been
disposed of that they would have collected along the same short stretch
of coastline.

When I'm out and about running errands I take an 18-ounce metal insulated
tumbler with me in the winter. Same thing in the summer but it's a 34-ounce
size. When the pandemic hit a couple of years ago I never left the house
without a filled tumbler as so many businesses had shut off their water
fountains.

Japan was the only place we got much of bottled water or electrolyte
replacement drinks. Super hot in summer, we'd go to the mall or Tonoo
Market to shop. They have these nifty drink machines everywhere. We
called it 'bottle weather'. Mostly 8oz bottles. 2 bottle weather
meant Charlotte and I would split 2 bottles per hour. On 4 bottle days
we stayed inside, or it we really needed something, did it only in the
morning.

Well that certainly ends the PTFE scare!

Maybe spun aluminum and water will reprise the deoderant dementia doldrums of the mid 80s...

Can you iamgine that - excellent water producing contaminated water filters, why it's completely COUNTERINTUITIVE, innit?

also their milk cartons were plentiful.

All the kids in the school have to come in with their personal water bottle when they show up in the morning. It's scary - like some kind of communist plot.

The school requires that the kids bring a water bottle to school.

His water utility should make testing results available. Mine does.

i take some of our well water with me on trips as i
find a lot of city water too icky.

as a kid though i thought grandma's city water was
really good and actually tasted sweet compared to ours.
now, no city water to compare to that often but i just
drink it anyways.

I want a piece of land in the Ozarks with a well.
That's some good water. I saw a nice piece that
we could afford if we sold this house and moved
back into the little house. It already has a well,
septic tank and electric. Maybe someday.
