Women are born entitled and narcissistic...

Usually they almost all lose that narcissism when they have children, but in Jill's case she was born "barren", and so no kiddies to temper her utter self - centeredness...

There used to be one in Fort Erie. I don't recall them offering some of
the things that they featured in that video. I am assuming it was part
of the US franchise. Some of my co-workers liked it enough that we went
there a few times. I did not like it at all.

There's nothing odd about it. Cracker Barrel doesn't serve anything
remotely Japanese or stir-fried. ;)

Lol, I don't know the history of that comment (I'm new here), but as a side story I've had sushi in Tokyo (no big surprise), but I was eating at Denny's at the time :)

It's a little stab by someone who steams everything at someone who
apparently stir fries everything.

You were at 2 places at the same time? Neat trick.

I do that with a few things. Squid rings come to mind. Sasoned flour
then egg wash then back in the seasoned flour. Most things get crumbs
rendered from dried out home baking.

I figured so. Plenty of them around in various places I've lived.
There was an outlet of them at the mall in Anderson (nearest mall from
Clemson SC.) It was seasonal and mostly gift packs but they had a
little tasting selection. Introduced me to brie which I adore!

I'm not sure either. Jill must be simply having fun? Sure we enjoy a
lot of 'Asian-ish' dishes but it's pretty common to pickup more than
birthplace cuisines if you've lived in other places.

Denny's in Tokyo? Wow, I wouldn't expect that! I never got to Tokyo
proper but spent some in Yokosuka and nearby.

I've not been to Yokosuka, but have been to a few places in Japan. I always enjoyed my (business) trips there.

I found an American style restaurant that was quite authentic, Aunt Emma's Kitchen. Eating a club sandwich there made me feel like I was back home. On a side note, there is (was?) a Japanese restaurant on Long Island (Bay Shore Rd in Deer Park, I can't really remember exactly), that was the most authentic Japanese restaurant I've ever been to outside of Japan.

Yes, I was having a bit of fun. :) You speak frequently of the foods
you ate in Sasebo, Japan and do more stir-frying than most people I know. :)

Wouldn't surprise me. There are McDonald's in Tokyo. But a Cracker
Barrel in Japan would surprise me!

Lots of authentic ones here and there! Now and again we'd get hungry
for foods from home too. Of course we would! We'd do pulled pork with
my savory coleslaw or something. Peach pies with icecream topping.

that sounds good too but i can't say i've ever made
a lot of breads with cheese in them. i like the real
strong flavors of cheese as direct as i can get them
most of the time. so adding them to bread just defeats
my own preferences there...

however, i'd eat it if it were put in front of me.

my thing with brie and the rind is that most of them
just remind me of mild mushrooms and i love most of the
mushrooms i've eaten.

Hehe and yes, I talk of things overseas. My stir fry though tends to
be just the method of cooking. It's fast and easy is all! I rarely
sauce them or spice them in Asian ways (closer to greek really) but
some might be.

My cookery tends to grow from planned leftovers. Yesterday was a busy
day with the garden and we ate the last of the ham stew with garlic
bread. Tonight might be a seafood salad with the last of the rice from
a ginger chicken Charlotte got her last Friday here, mixed with
leftover stir fry. Plenty of time to decide! Thusday HT then maybe
Friday Asian Grocery for more greens.

That it would! We had only Popeyes (on base) and out in town McD's and
KFC. It's funny what you miss when you can't have it! I would have
killed for a Taco Bell!

I agree in the sense that using a brie as an ingredient for a bread is
a waste of a brie. Just serve the bread and the brie side by side. And
the rind is an integral part of a brie. Don't cut it off to use it for
a different purpose than the rest of the brie.

I save the rinds from parmesan and brie, tasty addition
to home made soup.

What kind of weirdo eats brie without the rinds?

I eat the rind. It would be a waste to cut it off.
