Back in the day, fast food restaurants didn't necessarily offer the
laundry list of items they do now. That's why people are bugging out
over a recently released photo of a McDonald's menu snapped in 1973,
as ABC 10 News reports. Patrons who are used to choosing from about
145 menu items (via Marketplace) were shocked by the slimmed-down
offerings — at least in quantity, if not in nutritional value — shown
in the photo. Let's take a look at the retro menu, shall we?

https://www.mashed.com/img/gallery/people-cant-believe-this-70s-mcdonalds-menu/just-the-basics-1623264345.webp

As explained by Insider, the original McDonald's restaurants, the
first of which opened in 1955, had bare-bones menus, featuring just
hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, sodas, and milkshakes. Over the
years, franchises have added a steady stream of then-new, now-beloved
items: the Filet-O-Fish in 1965, the Big Mac in 1968, and Chicken
McNuggets in 1983. Today, most McDonald's locations boast more than
130 menu items, providing something for everyone.

As for us, we'd be happy with a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate
shake. Take us back to 1973?

WebP is an image format employing both lossy and lossless compression,
and supports animation and alpha transparency. Developed by Google, it
is designed to create files that are smaller for the same quality, or
of higher quality for the same size, than JPEG, PNG, and GIF image
formats. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebP

It is obvious now that you are foolishly and ignorantly blaming me for
posting a link to this picture
https://www.mashed.com/img/gallery/people-cant-believe-this-70s-mcdonalds-menu/just-the-basics-1623264345.webp
as you think I own mashed.com and have control over the format they
use to post graphics.

Thank you, though, for entertaining us again with your ignorance of
the world around you.

Hamburger pickles especially have a lot of salt so they [sic] mark
spark in the microwave.

So now you are claiming Klaus runs, or works for, Mashed? Really?
And what, exactly, is wrong with webp format?

I can state from personal, first hand experience, that Chrome,
Edge Chromium, and Waterfox can all display webp images without any
problem.

Oh really klous? Well if you didn't post it, then just whose name is up
there who posted that message?

The POINT is, you should have posted a link to a more universally accepted
format. This is Usenet. You will be forgiven this time, but next time,
WATCH IT.

The point is, you ignorant pup, that the webp format is as acceptable
as jpg or png, and you *will* accept it, and there is nothing you can
do about it.

Quit acting so retarded.

There are no rules in place preventing the linking to webp

You have NO authority to issue a proclamation. You are NOT the
group leader. You're not even a member of the Leadership Committee.
You're a standard user of the group. Nothing more.

There is no warning program.

Whereas Klaus is the leader of this group (chosen unanimously by
all who expressed an interest in the matter), everyone care about his
posts to some degree. You more than anyone else, since you are unable
to resist replying to nearly each and every post he sends.

By unanimous decision, you were made the new and current leader
for alt.food.fast-food.

Of course you do, Jenny. You're woefully ignorant in any subject we've
ever discussed.

Obviously, you had no idea what it was, because you cried like a
school girl when I used a link with it.

"Oh and BTW shame on you klous for posting in webp format." you
whined.

You knew nothing about it then, and you know what I taught you now.

That's ALL you know.

Jenny has never-- to my knowledge-- ever supported anything he's said
with an actual citation.

I don't think he's ever reached an educational level to understand
what a citation is.

He thinks typing in ALL CAPS is all the authority one needs.
