I did an experiment a few years back trying various weightlifting programs, each for 10 weeks, and keeping careful records, and my strength didn't improve, whereas as a younger man I had made good progress. At work I had access to a BodPod and could accurately determine percentages of fat vs other. So I decided that as I aged the only way to maintain a good balance was to reduce the fat content. At 131 I finally made it into the "lean" category but my last test at 135 showed me the next category up.

I was pushing 160 a few years ago (when I was 57), and my riding/running volumes - both aerobic and anaerobic - hadn't change all that much from the previous years. when I was able to keep it easily into the low 140s. I cut out dairy and a significant amount of carbohydrates and lost ten pounds in two months. Last summer I dipped below 140 a few times, this past weekend after a 2 1/4 hour MTB ride I weighed in at 142.

Christian Vandevelde is 5'11" and weighed ~ 150 during his prime. Depending on your body type 170 probably wouldn't be too bad, but it all depends on your physiology. I've had many discussions with people about weight control over the years. MY go-to point is always that your body has a spot where it wants to be. Your emotions might be trying to convince you that you're overweight, but if where you end up with a sensible diet and regular exercise is carrying some extra weight, it's probably not a bad thing.
