Drag shows HAVE been around a very long time - but that's a completely
different matter from "trans" which is actually about BECOMING M => F

condemned by birth to gender-related issues, trans people are about

I was present at the birth of two of my three children (got stuck in a
traffic jam en route to the hospital for the third - it was a 33 hour
labor and I didn't have anybody to cover for at work for the last bit
until the phone call saying "if you want to see your child being born
be here in 30 minutes" - I was there in 20, our daughter in 10 and the
doctor in 30 - i.e. she was delivered by the intern) and my point is
there was never any question at any of their births as to gender.

I sympathize with the small minority whose physical body parts are
vague but that's nothing to build a "movement" on and I certainly have
nothing but scorn for non-transitioned men who demand the right to
"identify" to gain access to womens' private spaces particularly given
the fact that many of those who access such spaces do it to seek
refuge because of past molestation.

Yes there is a conflict between some trans and the 50.5% of the
population that is naturally born female. So while most people will be
somewhat accommodating, at the end of the day if I >have< to weigh one
set of rights vs. another I (and I believe nearly all men) will come
down on protecting women and not poseurs.

If a man really wants to transition to a woman he had BETTER have
completed the surgery before expecting to be treated as one. Merely
dressing as one isn't sufficient.

I've always been a bit confused about people like Ellen/Elliot Page.
She/He lived for many years as a woman even after she/he had done
enough acting jobs to easily pay for the process. So why the delay?
Was it not clear in his mind that there was an issue that could only
be addressed through drastic surgery? Did he not want to go through
the process for years? I guess it's like the people who get married to
the opposite sex and then years later divorce and get together with
someone of the same sex. Something clearly pushed them over the edge,
but I'm not clear on what (I'm thinking of Meredith Baxter (Birney) as
an example.)

I think the problem is that someone that is really transitioning is
expected to live as a woman for some time before they can get the
surgery. Presumably that includes things like using female facilities
which is were the issue comes in.

I have to wonder what was done with the guy that worked at back in the
90s who was apparently going through this same process. All that I
know is that he wore dresses but don't know which facility he would
use while in that transitioning phase. I would assume in his case he
was truly trying to become a woman as it couldn't have been easy for
him back in the 90s, where as today there are many more protections in
place for someone transitioning. Though as pointed out we have people
taking advantage of the situation which doesn't make things any easier
for those who actually feel the need to transition.

If you listened to the video that I cited - and I'm pretty sure you've just admitted that you didn't - can you identify any lies or lapses of logic? Because it sounds like you've simply decided that if the fanatics who think like you have dismissed her, then you should too rather than listening for yourself and deciding for yourself.

You see, even if she's been "lying" on other things, she might very well be dead accurate this time. You're wrong about almost everything but even you are right once in a blue moon. For instance, you recently contributed your 2 cents worth into a discussion about Robin Hood and correctly pointed out that he is (almost certainly) a legendary figure, not someone who actually lived. See? Even YOU can be right! So maybe Megan Kelly is right about this thing. And even if it is the only thing she has EVER been right about, you do YOURSELF a grave disservice in not hearing what she has to say. She MIGHT even persuade you that you were WRONG about something which would give you a chance to be on the correct side of things for once.

But you don't have the balls to actually listen for exactly that reason. She might be CORRECT and that might force you to rethink some of the views your leaders have handed you. And that would be scary, right? Imagine if you had to start thinking for yourself about things and not just echoing the ideology you've been following so faithfully for so long.
