The graphite poweder lock lubricant arrived today. I applied a little
to the key and the lock, slid it in and out a few times (ooh er!) and
then switched it on and off, removed, re-inserted multiple time, and
the problem appears completely resolved.

I will now place the small container/dispenser next to my tub of
copper grease, filed as "consumables which will out-last me"

My Fazer has always responded well to a drop or two of 3-in-1 down the
barrel. I also use 3-in-1 for three outside padlocks and they've been OK
for a decade or so.

I have 6 tubs of red rubber grease. A fool hardy experiment in mousse
lube. A filthy job; cleaning it all off.

My first tub of copper grease went black and smelly after about 15
years. It has been replaced a several of years ago. I don't think I've
got any chance of outlasting either that or the moly grease, and even
the threadlock should give me a run for my money unless it goes hard first.

Shout-out for Quality Street tins, my personal fave. I also still have
a couple of tall 'Smash' tins from the 1980 which are good for tubes
