Tubs for Indian and Chinese food are also good.

My now deceased stepdads deceased dad was a tool maker. The bijou bachelor pad I live in was his workshop (couple of lathes, milling machine, various presses pillar drills etc). One wall was storage, and he had two racks which had a couple of hundred draws on each, for drills, nut, bolts, washers, tool bits etc. Every draw was an old school baccy tin with lid, and a perfectly turned knob on each. Wish I'd kept them, along with the various machines !!

Egg colour is purely a function of the breed of hen. Some put a colour coat on their
eggs (brown, blue, whatever) and some don't. What *does* affect the eggs is diet.

Our girls get good quality layers' pellets and plenty of free ranging, so bugs, grass,
amphibians, the odd mouse that the cats kill but don't eat[1]. Their eggs are of all colours
and tones, and the yolks are a *completely* different colour to any eggs that I can buy,
almost orange. I think they taste better, but that may be imagination.

[1] If you've never seen a chicken eat a mouse, you should. They can't chew, so it's
"down in one". You can really see the dinosaur sometimes....

Aye, IKWYM - IK*E*WYM - I used to be a smallholder and kept many
varieties of dinosaur - quail, bantams (not BSA, though I had a D1 for
happy yonks) hens of different makes and models, guinea fowl, ducks
(mainly mallard, callducks, Alesburies, Muscovies, and Indian runners),
geese, and that's not to mention the non-avian goats, bullock,
raspberries and tomatoes.

While IKWYM about the yolks, I am egg-intolerant so I only used them
sparingly, and always in cooking. 1 egg in (Say) a batch of pancakes was
fine, but two... <Shed> UAB! </UAB>

I *have* seen a chicken ingest a mouse. Two chickens and one mouse is
added entertainment.

I'm pretty sure it's not. We bought some supermarket "free range"[1]
eggs the other day, and they were tasteless.

One of the hillclimbers often brings some of his chicken's eggs with him
and they taste amazing, the yolk is a completely different colour as you
say.

[1] I doubt it
