Just about any Govt who was in power during Covid made plenty of
mistakes simply because no one regardless of their political party had
much of an idea, even the medical/scientific people who were advising
the politicians didn't have a clue at first and it took a couple of
years to get it right yet the electorate will most likely want to punish
them for those mistakes even if its obvious the opposition would have
made the same mistakes.

The worst party to be voting for is perfectly clear, unless you're
naive, stupid, dishonest, ignorant or any combination thereof.

If you're talking about the Federal Integrity Commission Bill, then it
was submitted to Parliament in October of 2020, and died a painless
death in May of 2021 after no one showed any interest in it.

Nice guy by all accounts, but not front line material as his performance
over the last 4 days has shown.

I think Morrison will be returned. I'd prefer anyone else to lead the
Libs than Morrison and his cretinous deputy Barnaby "fucknut" Joyce, but
it really doesn't matter as you vote for the party not the person.
Still, most people tend to ignore that reality, and in that sense
Anthony Albanese is the best chance Morrison has of being re-elected :)

Sorry Trevor. That would take *way* more energy than I'd ever be willing
to commit to the exercise. If you want to believe it all then knock
yourself out, but there is nothing I could ever present to a "closet
Labor Fanatic" like you that would ever make you believe otherwise :)

It's a funny thing Darren that the person with the *least credibility*
(apart from you of course) would have to be Morrison.

The problem we face now is that a *lot* of the fake news bullshit that's
become such a big part of the US media machine is now starting to bite
here in Oz, and we've seen a lot of it during the last 2 years. For
example, the Federal Government copped an amazing spray from both the
media and public alike when they were criticized for being "slow" to
secure vaccines, but they weren't slow at all. What they did was apply
to purchase as many doses as they could as soon as they were invited to
do so, with something like 50 million doses being purchased in the first
allotment.

What the public *wasn't* made well aware of, and principally because
most of the media chose not to talk about it, was the fact that the drug
companies producing the vaccines were at capacity supplying the US and
Europe who were suffering *way* worse than we were, and as a result we
were *not* considered a "priority market" and thus had to wait out turn.

New Zealand and a few other places were in the same boat, and this is
information that *should* have been explained to people.

But the government, for whatever reason chose *not* to mention that.
Instead Morrison decided to respond to calls for vaccines with dickhead
comments of "it's not a race". Presumably Morrison was advised to take
that approach in an attempt to pacify the electorate rather than tell
them the truth which would probably create mass panic, but it probably
could have been handled a _little_ better.

At the end of the day it made zero difference to us getting Vaccines and
we got them as soon as we were invited to apply for them, but none of
that stopped the media circus making a mountain out of a mole hill.

You are right though. There *has* been a lot of mistakes, but the
overwhelming majority have come at a State level and have had sweet fuck
all to do with the Federal Government. For what it's worth in cases like
the pandemic we've just been through I think the Federal government
should be able to Veto state control and have national unified
regulations that apply equally across the entire country.

That would make a lot of sense considering the crazy differences between
various state Covid rules, most except WA seem to have got it sorted by now.
Friends are in WA at the moment visiting family they haven't seen for a
couple of years and the BS they had to go through to be allowed into WA
is crazy, no other state has anything like it.

I'm sure the pandemic had something to do with that. anyhow, I don't
take interest in politics these days. i'm in a safe electorate so my
vote counts for nothing. I usually just vote for the independent candidate.

You plop out the same rhetoric every election but the truth is you're

Another day, another subject that the Fraudster has no idea about.

Gibbens, if the guvmint is under pressure to put a Bill up that they don't
want to, then an age old tactic is to include one or more sections in it
that are grossly unacceptable, such as high costs/extra taxes/killing your
first born son. So the opposition is left with no choice but to vote it
down, then the guvmint can stand up and bray, "We tried to satisfy the
public demand, but *they* voted it down!". It's not jenious, and it's
definitely immoral, but it works well enough when you have Murdoch backing
you.
