It's getting a bit morbid but surely nitrogen is cheap as chips?

Of course, if you go with argon and decide to make doubly sure by
electrocuting yourself simultaneously you'll have a nice pale lavender
glow. :-)

It's amazing I've lived so long, considering all the dangers I've put
myself in - motorcycling, surfing big waves, traveling in 3rd & 4th
world countries, etc...
My mother died of alzheimers. The last 5 years of her life were
horrible. She kept saying she wanted it to be over. I don't want to go
through that.

300ft, is that possible?
Roughly 4.5s and 150kph (90mph)
Current world record 192ft

Which world record? Highest fall survived without a parachute was 33,333ft.

Probably advisable to stand on the edge and shoot yourself rather than
relying on the fall itself.

Each to their own, eh? TBH I'm pretty much the same about paintwork on
bikes and cars - it needs to be there for protection, sure, but I'm
never really that bothered about it, and certainly don't try and keep
things looking pristine.

They had pilots? I honestly don't remember that.

This is our local cliff. ~100'. The photo is from 1898. There's another
photo from an early western movie of a cowboy on a horse doing the same
jump. Now, >100 years later, after so much erosion, at a very low tide

Easily. It's used foe welding. Probably cheaper than helium, in fact.
The issue is that it must be pure (aluminium welding grade) else it'll
contain CO2, which would rather negate the point of using an inert
gas.

If you absoulutely need an inert atmosphere and you can't get hold of
commercial gases, I reckon that electrolysing water for hydrogen, then
either using the hydrogen neat, or, safer, burn it slowly (to let heat
dissipate) in a sealed volume of air to remove the bulk of the
oxygen. Burning anything else (except maybe metals) would result in
producing CO2, which you really don't want.

If one were determined to off oneself the hedgerows are full of toxic flora as a

Although causing many fatalities this deadly fungus has no known
antidote. The symptoms start several hours after ingestion with severe
vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pains and can last for a few days;
this is followed by what seems to be a full recovery for a few days
but ending in death from kidney and liver failure. The main poison,
alpha amanatin, kills liver cells and passes through the kidneys to
be recirculated and cause more damage.

Compared to that, jumping off the cliff doesn't sound too bad.

I think I've told this before, but, when I were a nipper, I had to have
some test or other on my eyes and they used that stuff that dilates your
pupils. I was off school, decided I could see just fine, and decided to
assemble and paint an airfix model. I thought I was doing a fantastic
job. The next day the truth emerged.

I was, until I got my Triumph Herald restored. Now I'm eager for it to stay immaculate.

The modern cars only get washed once a year for sure (when they get serviced), and one other time if they're lucky.
