You can clearly see a change in the trajectory at the precise point that
matches up with the expected latency after the Indy 500.

It shows clearly in both JHU and Indiana's data, aligned within one day
of each other.

If you voted against Biden, then you voted FOR Trump.

There is no other option.

First, the original deadline of 3/31 was probably unrealistic.

Second, there’s sure to be heavy behind the scenes lobbying
by Enterprise that’s obstructing on stuff, such as requiring any
refitting of HVAC’s, such as with UV sterilization systems.

> By the time it's done we may be in a different pandemic!

The basics will still apply for transmission mitigation.

Political legacies come about as a result of one’s (in)actions.

For example, Trump promised Infrastructure for four years,
yet never even got as far as Biden’s current attempt.

> Fuck Trump too. I voted against Biden, not for Trump.

That’s still a vote for Trump, a fascist. Shame on you.

Not really. Today's Indiana official numbers including the 10 days leading up to the race follows. The days after the race, except for the June 2 outlier from previously unreported historical cases, are typical of the days before the race.

Also note the the actual number for last Friday was 293, not the 400+ in the JH data. Where they got that we don't know.

I have attached a link to a graph of this data from: https://hub.mph.in.gov/dataset/covid-19-case-trend/resource/182b6742-edac-442d-8eeb-62f96b17773e

Statistically, given day-to-day variation, the 14 day MA trend declines from May 20 to May 25 (before the race) and has been flat since. This despite the June 18 data outlier from a relatively small number of previously unreported cases. The flat trend is also despite the fact that the entire state is now open for normal business if business owners want to resume normal operations and can find workers. That opening started right after the CDC announced that vaccinated people did not need to mask if outdoors. Even the indoor restrictions are now essentially gone. Due to labor shortages some restaurants are still not open fully for in-house dining. One in our neighborhood had to close last week.

Apparently DC, a bastion of liberal government, is now opened up too. Check out the PBS special on the 4th of July celebration there. The Mall was jam packed with celebrating people, no masks in sight.

Here are the actual data for Indiana reported cases. The graph is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GYOR3u4cNLxvTiVHmFB26PeetQnMTl8P/view?usp=sharing

Your logic defies me. It's voting against both other candidates. That's how friends who did take the 3rd option explained it to me.

I'm not a fascist. If anything I'm more of a moderate who sees both sides.

You call Biden a socialist.

That's close enough for me.

No, for I just know history: history has repeatedly shown that fascists
are the worst possible form of good governance.
Likewise, I'm also familiar with how the Republican party's propaganda
arm, which namely is to try to duplicitously conflate and label all forms
of socialism into only possibly being the authoritative form, to bury the
democratic socialist form found in the EU.
So even if the "Socialist" label is true (can you do that? cite please), its
just not a 'bad' of a form of government, especially compared to fascism.

Plus the reality is that the US has many aspects of being a democratic socialist
state too: anyone who wants to argue otherwise has to first stop being a lame
hypocrite who's collecting their Social Security & Medicare/Medicaid benefits(!).

Actually what you see in the valid data from INDHS is a downtrend before and after the May 500 race.

The JH data has so many issues I do not know where to start. But I will anyway.

Go to https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/region/us/indiana

Click on past day
Today it's showing 976 new cases.
That's almost a week's worth.

Click on past week
Today it's showing 2,172 cases, actual is 1,667
Today it's showing 40 deaths, actual is 22
Scroll down to vaccinations
Click on Last 90 Days
It's showing an uptrend when the real trend is down
It's showing 197,487 does administered on July 3. Actual is 4,537.
The most we ever had in a day was about 60,000

The JH data do agree closely with all time totals, but the recent timelines are way off. The vaccination data are not even close. I wish they were right.
So what we have here is Unreliableboy quoting from an unreliable source.

Please use the official INDOH data at https://hub.mph.in.gov/dataset?q=COVID instead of JH !

That was my argument to my friends. They did not buy it.

The issue is that there is no national consensus to move further in the EU direction.

As for SS and Medicare, they are both VASTLY different from Europe. SS is the most similar, but funded in a different manner with less generous benefits. It's also only a supplement to private retirement programs. Medicare is totally different. To start with it kicks in at 65. Then to socialist healthcare systems are cradle to grave.

We are far from a fascist system. Look up the definition and you see pictures of Hitler, Mussolini and Chairman Mao.

And Trump, and Barr, and a huge number of Republican legislators who are
passing laws to take control of who wins elections.

There's also no national consensus to retreat away from it either.

So even though they're philosophically serving the same purpose and the one
is more generous than the other, just because the in-the-weeds pedantics
they're funded differently, they're supposedly "VASTLY" different? Not buying it.

Most of which no longer exist to be thusly supplemented.

So the eligibility ages are different ... that's not really that huge of a change.
Plus there's been national discussions to expand Medicare (much more so
than to eliminate it) as well as "single payer".

Only because January 6th insurrection failed.

>>> "Suddenly" you seem to have forgotten all about your claim of a post-Indy 500 race case surge. Another of your many unreliable statements. Your credibility is done.
> Bottom line? COVID is still here, simmering along and infecting the unvaccinated. Is that a bad thing? Not entirely. Deaths remain very low, about 2/day, almost all among the unvaccinated or prior case population. Immunity is increasing from vaccination and COVID cases.

Bottom line:

Cases are on the rise in Indiana...

<https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/2393.htm>

Two weeks ago, the 7-day moving average for cases was 239. It was as low
as 194 cases per day 9 days ago.

Today...

FROM YOUR SOURCE

....the moving average has risen to 268.
