They’d have to have homing beacons to hit the heart. Or there would have to
be so many of them that they all but vaporize the vamp.

There's an idea for a new product, Vamp Vapors. The kids would be
lining up for it. Smoke your very first vampire without the danger.

I rather liked Ezri Dax (Nicole de Boer).

But as you say Jadzia and Ezri were the human hosts while Dax was the
Trill Symbiont.

Terry Farrell was gorgeous - Nicole de Boer was "cute as a button"

Take a look at the two pics of Terry Farrell on her wiki page. One
from 2009 and the other from 2019. Not much difference and still a
good looking woman.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Farrell_(actress)

Nicole de Boer is still cute even without a lot of makeup as seen

I would agree with everything you just said.

Unless Ian also agreed with it in which case I would have to reject at
savagely.

I’m not sure why that’s broken but it is. I found my way to her wiki that
had the 2019 image but I didn’t see the 2009 image.

I was unaware she had been married previously, and has a child!

I did not know she was a mother either.

It must have something to with the way it is treating links. Even
doing a custom quote gets the same split between the rest of the link
and (actress). In any case if you click on the actress link on the
page you are sent to you will see two pictures. The top picture is of
Farrell at the 2019 GalaxyCon Richmond and the picture below that one
is of Farrell at the 2009 London Expo.

Humanoid (for the convenience of casting human actresses), not human

>Terry Farrell was gorgeous - Nicole de Boer was "cute as a button"

Absolutely

In an interview, Terry Farrell asked to be written out for a few
production weeks because she was feeling run down and producers insisted
that she appear in each episode. That's why she didn't renew her
contract for the final season. Note that the Armin Shimmerman character,
while he appeared each week, was forced into any number of episodes the
character wasn't needed in, especially when they were crewing The
Defiant. He must have had a contract requiring an on-screen appearance
in every episode to maximize his residuals.

Of course they could have accomodated the actress. It's not like she was
demanding pay for those production weeks.

Yes, that's what makes it so much fun to play "count your spots" with
Jadzia!

This illustrates perfectly how TV has gone to shit in the modern era.

On 90s DS9 TREK, we had two female Trills-- one gorgeous, the other
(almost) impossibly cute.

On 2020s Discovery TREK, they give us a pudgy, rotund Trill that's a
girl but looks like a boy and turn it into a vehicle to push the whole
82 genders/non-binary/trans-testicle political agenda.

The markup artists spent a lot of time thinking about how to enhance the
natural sensuality of the actress versus, say, those Minbari masks on
Babylon 5 with the ears at the jaw line. The Narn masks were great.

I respect makeup artists who are fully committed to their jobs like
that.

The original Star Trek managed to include no end of lecturing on the
flaws of modern society, Hollywood style, but never forgetting to cast
full-figured, young, sexy-as-hell actresses which made it easier to
accept being lectured at.

It's not like the Trill weren't introduced from the start as an example
of a sybiotic species with less of an emphasis on distinction between
sexes. Funny how that could be done without offending the audience
for the sake of offending the audience.

Is there any possibility that the casting director is trying to
undermine the ham-handed social politics of the scripts?

Ah, that's right. You are using a mobile phone to connect to the site.
Guess it doesn't automatically show you everything when on a mobile
phone. Glad you finally got it to work

She said that the very next day Paramount asked her to be in Becker, so she
assumed she hadn’t offended the head office!

Oh, the Paramount+ app, after I watched the end of the DS nine finale to
report back here, started auto playing STD. WTF?

Also I got to see Dr. Bashir in bed with Ezri Dax for the first time. And
he’s saying stuff like now he knows how far down the spots go and such.
Like he never saw Jadzia naked.

I hate the finale of deep space nine.

Also, auto spell appends “Dax“ to “Ezri“ but not to “Jadzia“

Shimmerman was going a mile a minute in 1994 (at least I think it was
that year) as he was both doing Quark *AND* the principal in season 3
of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That was the season where in the season
finale he morphed into a gigantic evil snake creature and devoured the
school.

Gotta give the guy credit for taking on 2 major roles in two very
popular TV shows in a single season. I've heard the DS9 production
team DID give him some extra time off during the shooting of the last
3 or 4 episodes of Buffy where as the "big" evil bad guy had a larger
role than he had had earlier in the season. (Then worked the hell out
of him immediately following the Buffy finale "going in the can)

I'm sure there were several female roles with fans like that though
for me T'Pol was the main reason for watching Enterprise; I had seen
Bakula in numerous shows before that and with respect to Enterprise my
feelings could best be described as "meh"

I have been trying to figure out whether Mary Wiseman's weight gain in
her last season was her own doing or requested by the producers since
I didn't see the plot point (other than lecturing us on plus size
people) and I thought her role regularly outdid Sonequa Martin-Green's
role which is probably why they got rid of her.

She was the main comedic element whereas Martin-Green was supposed to
be all drama all the time and she just doesn't have the chops to do
that. I don't know why they wanted that as Shatner + Nimoy were
constantly cutting up especially in the last 5 minutes of each
episode. (And I'm old enough to have watched most of those in first
run long before most of us could watch re-broadcasts except as reruns)

The mayor turned into the snake, not the principal.

I worked a Hillary fundraiser at Jolene Rapino's (nee Blalock) house in
Brentwood. She was very kind-- allowed us to use her home theater as a
down room and made sure it was well stocked with snacks. It was weird
seeing her with emotions, though.

What was the movie you put on?

Why did the Vulcans want Hillary?
