That's irrelevant to the OPs problem, since he appears to only use his
car for shopping, your case is obviously different.

Nope, the convenience intangible applies to everyone who can afford a car.
The OP bought new, ergo he can afford it. In my case, we have two cars
because we can afford them and, currently, need both. That will change when
my wife decides to give up work. We won’t *need* a car at all then but I
will definitely welcome the *convenience* of having one in the garage ready
for whatever circumstance turns up.

It is, but then that's his standard operating procedure. Turn the
conversation into it being all about him so he can make lots of
incredibly inane and completely irrelevant "me" posts.

As far as the original poster goes if he's not actually trolling for the
sake of it he should be able to determine *himself* if his lifestyle
justifies the cost of owning a car. If he can't then he should probably
consider taking a bus, as no one else can do it for him.

So he's a troll then. Felix probably dragged him in here. He does that a

So he bullshits then Darren? Well, well, well, so do you Darren and your
porkies are *HUGE*. So vast and wide ranging are your lies they leave
everyone else in the dust. When it comes to porkies no one can hold a

plus the ice cream will have melted, if not completely at least to some
extent, depending on the outside temperature. and I would suggest that
if the OP can't decide if he needs a car he doesn't need one. if he
needed a car he wouldn't need to question needing one.

I don't only use it for shopping. When relatives visit we go on trips to
the country.

I don't know whether I need one. If my current car (20 years old)
stopped working and became unviable to fix, I would probably not buy a
new one.

It is a serious question. If my current car (20 years old) stopped
working and became unviable to fix, I would probably not buy a new one.

Does that mean I should get rid of the car now?

It's like the old adage about share trading:

"If you wouldn't buy the stock now, then sell it."

I got a uni computer degree a while back. This is a new course I am
doing and the last subject I did I got 93%. Far from being laughed out
