language are you working in? C++, Fortran, Python, Pascal, PHP or a
myriad of others. Surely you know enough VBA to write a spreadsheet that
does a cost benefit analysis...

but cars are about convenience so the only one who can answer the
question is you.
My car is almost 20yrs old and not worth much but its in good condition
and there is no public transport close to where I live so a car is a
necessity.
