Achtung! Stalking attempt in progress! Arogant entitled behaviour alert! Our
David is again demanding info which he has no right to even think that he
should have access to!

And, oh... if he names an app, how would you be able to tell if he’s
telling the truth or not? It’s not as if you know his real. name, or can
get Apple to confirm or deny his statement...

God-damn, but you’re an idiot.

And you still haven’t replied to my answer to your incredibly stupid
challenge. Why should anyone tell you a damn thing when all that happens if
they do is that you run away? Again?

You have threatened to ‘report’ me to various entities on multiple
occasions. How’s that working for you, oh vilest of the vile?

Apps are written for people to use. 'nospam' claims he's written some -

Does this make the 2 lower carrot_2 (carrot base 2)

If so, it follows the mathematical positioning of caret = superscript
and underscore means subscript. That's caret not carrot.

1. he could have written apps in the past, which are no longer in use

2. he could have written apps for corporate use; such apps are usually
available only at the corp site, and are not for the general public

3. he could have written specialized apps for a tightly defined target
audience, even if not corporate

4. he could have been part of a team writting a major, copyrighted,
trademarked, app, and may not be allowed to say without permission from
management... which is unlikely to happen.

5. it’s none of your damn business anyway

6. you should stop trying to stalk.

then why do you need to know what app(s) he’s written? You’re not just an
idiot stalker, you’re a fucking stupid, even for an idiot, stalker.

you said that you had _already_ reported me, and several times to several
different places. The list includes Supernews and at least one unnamed TLA.
Did you ‘forget’ again? You need to stop abusing alcohol.

On 09/02/2022 16:40, Kelly Phillips needs to understand that either
ClamXav is a scam or JD of Etresoft is talking a load of bollocks.

Which is correct?

NOBODY HAS SHOWN THEIR WORKING!

Eteresoft (JD) is absolutely clear that *NO* anti-malware software needs
to be used on an Apple computer.

Here's a screenshot of what is said - item 4. specifically:-
https://ibb.co/80mJ4K2

For those who won't click on links:-

Bonus: Important tips

There is an epidemic of all types of scams today - from duct cleaning to
water heaters. This tip is about one specific scam - the Safari pop-up.
While browsing the internet, a dialog pops up telling you that:

You have won a prize or inherited money
The FBI has detected illegal activity
Your computer is infected
You need to download some software
Your online account has been blocked
Someone in a poor country needs your help
You need to download a video player
None of this is true. You are asked to call a number. The pop-up cannot
be closed. If you restart Safari, the pop-up returns.

In recent versions of macOS, you can click OK or press the Return key
(useful if the pop-up is partially off the screen) to close the pop-up.
The next time the dialog appears, you will be able to close it
permanently. On older systems, you can Force Quit Safari and then hold
down the Shift key and restart Safari.

Important: Do NOT call the number! The scammers will take control of
your Mac, show your cryptic, but harmless log files, make some low-level
changes using the Terminal, and charge your credit card $500 or more. If
this happens, you will have to:

Call the police;
Call your bank and cancel all of your credit and debit cards;
Purchase identity theft protection;
Restore your Mac to a state from before the hack; and
Change all of your passwords on your Mac, e-mail accounts, and any
internet accounts.
Note: The scams listed above can also come via e-mail. These are called
phishing e-mails. Always hover your mouse pointer over any link in an
e-mail to see if it is is legitimate. But if the subject of the e-mail
is anything listed above, the links are not legitimate.

You may notice poor grammar and spelling in a scam e-mail. Please don’t
laugh about this or make fun of the people who fall for these scams. The
poor writing is not an accident. The scammers are looking for vulnerable
people who might have poor education, poor eyesight, poor English, be
older, or young. Their money is just as good as anyone else’s. When
people do fall for scams they are embarrassed and don’t want to admit
it. Making fun of victims only reinforces these feelings and helps the
scammers.

Along with web pop-ups and phishing e-mails, scam software is very
popular. Most software review sites on the internet are fake. Most
software reviews are fake. Most "top-10 software" lists on the internet
are fake. Most adware removal instructions on the internet are just ads
for scamware. When in doubt, or even when you aren’t in doubt, ask for
help on your favourite tech support website.

The Mac App Store is not immune to scam software. Do your own research.
Find the company that makes the software. Do they have a real web site?
Be suspicious if it is an individual person’s name instead of a company
name.

Another modern Mac epidemic is adware. If you think you may have
installed some adware, run EtreCheck. EtreCheck can detect and remove
adware. Ad blockers are very useful, but have to be regularly updated
and double-checked to make sure they haven’t been taken over by advertisers.

Even though there is an epidemic of scams, scamware, and adware for Mac
users, true malware like trojans and viruses are still extremely rare.
You do not need any antivirus software on a Mac. Most Mac antivirus
software checks your Mac for Windows malware that is harmless to you. It
will also likely slow down your Mac and cause problems. Apple includes a
more efficient malware scanner in macOS than anything you can find
elsewhere.

Generally speaking, your Mac is not a significant risk for security. If
you are worried about online security and hackers, you need to focus
your efforts elsewhere. Here are some tips for internet security:

Always choose long, complex passwords.
Never reuse passwords.
Always assume that any information you provide a website will be made
public one day. Maybe soon.
Except where legally required, never provide any personal information.
Only after all of this is done do you need to worry about your Mac.
Then, there are only a few areas to review. When in doubt, the defaults
settings are usually the most secure options.

The most important security feature on Macs is Gatekeeper. Go to System
Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and make sure the setting
Allow apps downloaded from: is set to Mac App Store and identified
developers. Even with this setting, you will still have to confirm the
installation of any software downloaded from the internet. Clicking the
Cancel button is always a safe choice.

Next, go to System Preferences > Sharing and make sure all sharing
services are turned off. If you really need them, you can turn them on
at home, but they should always be off when in public at a library,
school, or coffeeshop.

Review your Safari security preferences. Launch Safari and choose
Preferences from the Safari menu and then choose the Security tab. There
is no such thing as a “safe” download.

Important: A Firewall will not protect you if sharing is turned on.
Firewalls are tools for network administrators. The firewall on your Mac
is a marketing gimmick. If you are concerned about security, keep all
sharing services off. Do not rely on a firewall. It doesn’t do what you
think.

Other pop-ups: From time to time, your Mac may display other kinds of
pop-ups asking you to install some software or provide your password.
Again, clicking the Cancel button is always a safe choice. If you do
need to install an Adobe Flash update, go to the Adobe site yourself and
download the update.

It is important to keep your Mac updated. Apple no longer provides
security updates to old versions of the operating system. If you have
installed any low-level system modifications, you should run EtreCheck
to find out what they are and make sure they will run on the updated
system before you perform the update. These programs will be listed
under Kernel extensions, Launch daemons, Launch agents, and User Launch
agents. Anything listed under Startup Items definitely will not run on
OS X 10.10 "Yosemite" or later and should be updated.

Important: Always download every major Mac software installer. Then quit
the installer, find it in the Applications and archive it for later.
Older versions of the operating system can be difficult to find and
install if you need them later.

Before updating your Mac, it is important to make sure your Mac can run
the latest version of the operating system. Current versions of macOS
run best on current computers that have 8 GB and an SSD. You may not be
happy with the performance on an older computer. You may need additional
RAM and an SSD upgrade. Your EtreCheck report will indicate if your
computer has upgradeable RAM. Not counting iMacs, any computer that has
upgradeable RAM can probably also be upgraded to an SSD.

Don’t forget about your 3rd party software and hardware. Before updating
your Mac, make sure your software and hardware will work with the new
operating system.

Always make a backup before upgrading. You will need to erase your hard
drive to go back to an older version of the operating system.

Backups are critical. All Mac users should be running Time Machine.
Other kinds of backups may be useful in certain situations, but Time
Machine should be your primary backup.

All Mac users should use the Mac App Store whenever possible. Apps from
the Mac App Store are regularly updated, reviewed by Apple for quality
and security, and easily removable. Before installing any software from
any other source, make sure you know how to remove it. It is a very good
idea to keep the original download files because they sometimes contain
uninstallers or uninstallation instructions.

Important: Any software that uses a dedicated installer that requires
your password may be difficult to uninstall.

Never happened. But I did bully others. Never did anything worse than 13 stitches in the back of someone's skull though.

How come your posts fuck up Opera's display?

https://imgur.com/a/83VBNGI

Notice the correct one at the bottom, Snit's post.
The one at the top, from you, doesn't have your name, and the newsgroups line has been right justified. What are you putting in your name, are there some weird characters?

Actually, you're not entering a "from" in the headers, yet somehow Opera still puts your name in the list of posts!:

Eteresoft (JD) is absolutely clear that *NO* anti-malware software needs
to be used on an Apple computer.

Here's a screenshot of what is said - item 4. specifically:-

Call the police;
Call your bank and cancel all of your credit and debit cards;
Purchase identity theft protection;

Always assume that any information you provide a website will be made
public one day. Maybe soon.

What has been seen cannot be unseen. Ugh. It was an ugly German boy. I can't remember what he said to me, but I was irritated enough to throw him across the room. Unfortunately he went further than I expected and collided with a concrete pillar. I disappeared when I saw blood. I was told later why he wasn't in the next class. To be fair he never grassed me off, and remained friends with me afterwards.

Look at a post in the newsgroup which is from you. One you've downloaded, not just in your sent box. Paste all the headers in here. There must be a from header because Opera knows it's your post, but it's buggering up the display. If I can see what you see, maybe I can see what's annoying Opera (which is rather out of date, they haven't updated it in years).

Your "not all have access" is incorrect. Everyone has access to piratebay.

Without reading all that unintelligible legalese, I assume it says (since it's Gnu) that you may use it as long as you don't profit from it. Is that why Windows Media Player is shit and doesn't play half the stuff? Because MS although they don't sell Media Player, are shipping it with a paid for OS?

Anyway, I'm sure some codecs are not Gnu and require payment even if used in a free program.
