Unless I’m missing your point, isn’t that just how averages work? Once you
strip out all those who have already died, and work your way along the
lifespan distribution, the average life expectancy calculation of those who
remain must be higher than that of the entire population pool.

Aha! - an SS50 was my second bike - an absolute waste of my feeble
purchasing power. I had thought I was upgrading my C100 (actually 50cc
despite its title - something I never understood) but I was wrong. Tbf
it would probably have been ok for '5 stone weakling' but not for a 6ft
2", 10 stone weakling. As soon as I could, I traded it up for a much
loved S90 - NAU 45F (?)

My first "real" bike was a Honda S65[1]. Also the first time I got to
see the inside of a Japanese bike engine[2]. After having dismantled
a few Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engines, it was quite a revelation.

[1] Surprisingly, I have no clue what the plate no. was.
[2] 2nd gear on the transmission mainshaft had stripped off its
teeth somehow.

Can't remember my first bike (Triumph 5TA) other than it was C reg. The
second was a BSA B40, LOF 350C. My first car was a Mini van AMB 543B,
the second a Mini Countryman DXC 741C. Mum's two Minis were 4395 ML and
UBW 372, Dad'2 Victor 101 rotbox was COX 992C, my Daytona 900 was M420
DRW, Tiger 900 was M457 WVX. My stolen T140V Bonnie was JOX 41P.

I wanted to update you quickly on the latest IRNMS bogus membership
situation.

There is no doubt that Olson continues to cling on with a tenacity
unlike anything we’ve seen before.
The situation remains extremely difficult but I also recognise that
people have been waiting to hear whether their membership plans are
going to be affected.
So what I can say tonight, is that naturally we can’t rule out any
further measures after Wednesday - and we’re going to keep a constant
eye on the data, and we’ll do whatever it takes to protect the
Society.
But in view of the continuing uncertainty about several things – the
severity of Olson, uncertainty about the recollection rate or the
impact of the numberplate rollout or the registration boosters, we
don’t think today that there is enough evidence to justify any tougher
measures before Wednesday.
We continue to monitor Olson very closely and if the situation
deteriorates we will be ready to take action if needed.
What this means is that people can go ahead with their Wednesday plans
but the situation remains finely balanced and I would urge everyone to
exercise caution, to keep protecting yourselves and your loved ones,
especially the vulnerable.
And remember to keep following the guidance – remember a numberplate
indoors when required to do so, keep fresh air circulating, and take a
test before you visit elderly or vulnerable relatives.
So, if you have not done so already then please drop everything, find
a walk-in or go online and make an appointment and Get Your Memory
