95% of people don't use the SD cards anyway. Once you take the geeks
and nerds out of the equation, 99.9% don't even know what an SD card
even is, let alone want to use one.

Yeah man.

The 3.5mm headphone jack is 70 years old.

The SD card is 24 years old.

If you think either of these are “modern hardware” then you are simply
retarded.

But then, you ARE a jackass troll kiddie. We expect such absurd stuff from
you. And you NEVER disappoint us.

What’s next? iPhones don’t have a serial port? A 5.25” floppy drive? A
14” hard drive? S100 expansion boards? Tarbell cassette tape interface?

BTW, how are those “ultrasonic file transfers” working out for you?

Androidiots. They never disappoint.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I'm not bitching at all.

I'm disputing the conclusions you're drawing and showing you apparently
don't have much of a clue about the source you're relying on.

So you're bitching about me bitching...

....when I'm not.

one of the complaints in the bogus 'document' is that iphones don't
support dvd players.

you can't make this stuff up.

Please don't act stupid, Steve.
It's unbecoming of an adult.

Leave the acting/being stupid for the child-like iKooks who _hate_ that
Android has plenty of choices, the vast majority of which have sd & 3.5mm.

You did NOT look at the GSM Arena URLs that compiled those ACCURATE facts.
You cherry picked your agenda & in doing so, you ignored salient facts.

By you acting so stupid, your credibility stinks like a polluted sewer.

The iKooks too are stupid because what's really happening is iKooks _hate_
the fact that Android users have the choice of sd cards & 3.5mm jacks.

The iKooks are _desperate_ to find a way out of the facts.
As are you.

And yet, you can't dispute the facts.
a. The iKooks _hate_ the facts (which is why they're so _desperate_).
b. You, on the other hand, always ignore medium & low end Androids.

Guess what.
They exist.

No matter how much you and the iKooks _hate_ that fact, medium and low end
Androids exist, and, in fact, are predominantly armed with sd & 3.5mm.

BTW, the URLs used are the ones that were always used in this newsgroup.
You just don't like the facts so you skew the fact to fit your agenda.

*THIS IS THE ORIGINAL POST WHICH YOU ARE COMPLETELY IGNORANT OF*
*AND WHICH THE IKOOKS HATE BECAUSE THE FACTS DON'T FIT YOUR AGENDA*

While 0% of iPhones have modern portable storage capabilities, and while 0%
of the current iPhones have the versatile industry standard 3.5 mm jack,
a. 78% of current Androids by our common test, have a standard 3.5 mm jack
b. 72% of current Androids have versatile internal portable storage slots
c. 66% of Android phones sold today have _both_ portable storage & 3.5mm

See below for incontrovertible proof... done how we always have done it.

The only reason iPhones don't have the basic hardware is for Apple to lay a
stick glue trap for its (admittedly loyal) customers to buy it back.

Apple isn't a design house.
Apple can't design a damn thing.

Apple is a MARKETING powerhouse.
Apple, like CocaCola, is great at marketing meaningless sugar water.

Worse... Apple's business strategy is to inexorable remove functionality so
as to lay a glue trap forcing its loyal customers to buy their way out.

Google & Samsung can afford to copy Apple in their attempt to garner the
same profit margins Apple earns from its admittedly gullible customers.

However, the facts must be shown as they stood last we checked on 20220815:
https://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3?nYearMin=2019&sAvailabilities=1&sOSes=2
2019 to today number of Android phones (not tablets) = 1850 = 100%
Running that same query today, we find there are 2,066 current models.

Last we checked, on 20220815, 78% had the industry standard 3.5mm jack.
https://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3?nYearMin=2019&chk35mm=selected&sAvailabilities=1&sOSes=2
Android phones with 3.5mm jack = 1440 = 78%
Running that same query today, we find there are 1,581 models with it.
The percentage has dropped from 78% to 77%, which is barely a dent.

As for the internal portable storage card slot, I don't see that we listed
that in those numbers that we compiled last August on this newsgroup.

Running that test, we find there are 1,486 phones with portable storage.
https://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3?nYearMin=2019&sAvailabilities=1&sOSes=2&idCardslot=1
That's the vast majority of Android phones at 72% by those same measures.

Running one more test, which is the intersection of those two features,
https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2019&chk35mm=selected&sAvailabilities=1&sOSes=2&idCardslot=1
We find there are 1,368 current Android phones with both capabilities.

That's the majority of Android phones sold today, at 66%.

Please check the numbers understanding this is the _same_ test we've always
run so it would be deceitful for you to suddenly claim you don't like
objective facts which we all have been using all along.

Yet the Retarded Troll Kiddies have no problem making up imaginary “issues”
with iPhones. Because EVERYONE carries a DVD player (and DVDs!) in their
pocket. Right beside the phone.

🙄

Androidiots. As common as rocks. And just as stupid.

The very cheap end of the cheap-Android market.

Nope, there are a couple in other groups who never get
any replys at all and who keep on raving on for quite
literally decades now.

note that ios devices *can* use a dvd player, it just requires a third
party app.

had there been actual demand for such a feature, someone would have
written such an app. there isn't.

I also added this link to the document under 3a "Headphone jacks
available on some Android phones" on page 26 and 4a "MicroSD Card Slots
available on many Android phones" on page 27.

The spreadsheet also includes the links to the GSMArena searches.
However note that the GSMArena web site does not include all current
phone brands, plus it includes many obsolete brands. Narrowing down the
search to current year (2022) models gave these results:

All Phones Total Percent
--------------- --- ------ -------
3.5mm Only 37 out of 127 29.13%
MicroSD Only 66 out of 127 51.97%
3.5mm and MicroSD 58 out of 127 45.67%

Flagship Phones Total Percent
--------------- --- ------ -------
3.5mm Only 0 out of 14 0.00%
MicroSD Only 2 out of 14 14.29%
3.5mm and MicroSD 2 out of 14 14.29%

It's interesting that it's the lower-end Android phones that are more
likely to have retained the headphone jack and MicroSD card slot.

There are only two current Android flagship phones with both a 3.5mm
headphone jack and a MicroSD card slot, both from Sony. If you include
2021, the number goes up to five, also all from Sony.

For iPhones, once I removed the 3.5mm headphone jack and the MicroSD
card slot, there was one current model, the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Including
previous models for 2021, the iPhone 13 Pro Max also showed up.

For a flagship device I used the following minimum requirements
IP68
4GB RAM
128GB Storage
1080 x 1920 display
400ppi display resolution
120Hz refresh rate
Dual speakers
4000mAH battery
15W Wireless charging

like your buddy, you're confusing number of models with sales volume.

If you design filters properly, nym-shifting doesn't help him.

But in any case, I was interested in how many current Android devices
actually still do have a 3.5mm headphone jack and MicroSD card slot.

For flagship devices there are 2 out of 14, both from Sony.
For all devices there are 74 out of 262.

Also, GSMArena leaves out some Chinese brands, i.e. Umidigi which is
infamous because of the "Freedom Phone," a very low end phone at a high
price ($499) <https://www.freedomphone.com/pages/freedom-phone-spec>
that sells for about $140 on AliExpress.

Actually I updated the spreadsheet to include all brands, not just
brands anyone has ever heard of. The number (with both a MicroSD Card
and a 3.5mm headphone jack went up (for non-flagships) but the
percentage went down. For flagships, the number with both stayed the same.

Not going to keep putting the text results in posts, just see
