I never see that here. Mackerel, snapper, sometimes striped trumpeter,
whiting, tuna, shark.

Shark? That's uncommon! Only place where I ever had shark was iceland, and
it was pretty good. I also had sharkfin soup decades ago, but I doubt
there was any actual shark in that soup. But the one in iceland was
excellent!

There are a few small sharks that are commonly eaten. I'm not sure of
the exact names. Gummy shark could be one of them. I've never had
shark fin soup, real or fake.

Fascinating! You learn something new every day! The shark fin soup (real
or fake) was nothing to write home about, so haven't had it since then.

When I was a young man, one of my friends worked for the government as
an electrical engineer on nuclear subs. Once, he had a job in New
Haven, I believe, and flew back to Nevada with a big box of East Coast,
fresh lobster. We all had a great lobster feed.
He became bored with engineering, got a degree in psychology and has
practiced in Berkeley for the last forty years. Politically, we don't
agree on much anymore. ;)

Years ago, that would be quite a treat. One trip to LV I was at the
airport looking out the window as a plane was being unloaded. About 10
boxes of lobster came down the conveyor. I'm sure they sold at premium
price in the restaurant.

I don't know if it still happens, but there used to be a guy who used to
sell lobsters off the back of a truck at the side of the road near my
office. They had been cooked fresh on the east coast and kept on ice
for the trip here. The trip would be a minimum 15 hours. I bought a
couple and they were pretty good.

Dangerous stuff! Seems like Berkeley is good at radicalizing its students!
;)

I remember visiting once, and spent some time debating with a very nice,
long-bearded, gentleman about evolution and if my girlfriend at the time
was a hypocrite or not.

Disagreeing with Leo doesn't mean you're radical. Quite the opposite.
Agreeing with Leo means you're radical :)

Oh, I don't mind conservatives. They help us keep from going right
off the rails when the starry-eyed liberals try to change too much,
too quickly.

There are precious few conservatives left, though. What, exactly

bathtub?

I don't want to drown them. I just want to lay 75% off and allow
them to luxuriate in the social welfare tub they created.
