Every time drivers and team principles are on camera for a while they're
all lifting the mask back up to cover the nose.

With all the engineers involved in F1, and motor racing in general, cant
they design a mask that does not slip when talking?

Many masks aren't fitted properly, as in the general population. Many have a little metal strip across the top of the mask. If that is bent to contour the narrow part of the upper nose, the mask doesn't slip.
The all fabric shaped masks should have a pleat across as well.
Mask wearing outside I think is a little excessive.

You have just identified why mask wearing in public is important
People may have covid without realising it (asymptomatic) by wearing a
mask it reduces transmission, this only works if everybody wears a mask

A Cambridge UK hospital trialled the use of N95 masks instead of the blue surgical masks in Covid wards. No staff infections with the N95.
I've just installed the French Covid tracking app. The guidance is masks indoors AND when a 1 metre separation can't be maintained.
Covid infections when "Too Many Too Close Too Long". Simple.

The viruses are not free floating like pollen, they're embedded in
coughs and sneezes.

No one thing will stop the spread, stuff like wearing masks, handwashing
and wiping down surfaces all help mitigate the spread.
