We were given the choice of languages or science, I didn't see it as a
choice more of a foregone conclusion. The school was massively pissed
off with my year, it was the first time in its 300 year history that
science was the more popular subject.

It's still the early days of this new age (and the Eloi / Morlock relationship was a complex one,
perhaps too complex for a simple point I was trying to make)...

I was told to expect more severe side effects from the second jab such as headaches etc. but so
far, nine hours on, I'm fine. Nine hours after the first jab I had quite a sore arm. (Nothing
major, just as if it was bruised from an impact and a bit painful to lie on that side but it was
fine after 36 hours.)

I had my second AZ a month ago (in 2 high risk groups - over 70 and
diabetic) absolutely no side effects at all.

From talking amongst friends, the two jabs common around here have very
different impacts.

pfizer (which I and a few friends had) had very little symptoms other
than a little pain at the injection point after the first jab. The
second was fine until the next day when I had a couple of days of (very)
mild symptoms of 'flu and a headache. Wore off fine. My friends report
something very similar - very little first, a little more noticeable
with the second.

AZ (which most of my friends had) seemed to provide more symptoms with
the first jab, but nothing major and wore off after a day. The second
jab seems to have caused much milder effects (with several saying there
wasn't really anything to speak of) than the first.

Indeed, thanks for the info. I'm second jab pfizer +24 hours and nothing other than a little pain
at injection site (much less pain than first jab, which still wasn't that bad).

I've had respiratory issues most of my life (narrow airways, nothing life-threatening) so was
eligible for the vaccine a month sooner than I would have been going by age cohort alone. I booked
the first jab for the day after I got the email and the second for +21 days. I could see things
were going pear-shaped in AUS / NSW back then as they weren't locking down anywhere hear as hard as
we do in NZ and Aus is just too damn close. Back then we were still allowing travel between some
AUS states and NZ and C-19 doesn't respect borders.

The last thing I want is to be a vector / incubator for C-19. I have a great immune system, haven't
had a full-on 'flu for over two decades (and have never had a 'flu jab in my life. Sometimes when
there's 'flu going around I get the sniffles for a day at the most then all good). It's my
understanding that C-19 is more likely to mutate in people with robust immune systems so best to
not give it that chance.
