I thought 'Pumped Hydro' was already in place .... in the Snowy system
..... for many years!!

When Power is needed (i.e. during the day), the water in the Upper dams
is released through the Generators, producing power, and collected in
the Lower dams.

Then, at night, when Power is cheap, the water is pumped from the Lower
dams back into the Upper dams.

Sure, when all the coal gennies are shut down, getting power to get the
water back up the hills could be a bit problematic but still!
