I picked up a nice lamb chop and plan to grill it (on the hibatchi) for
dinner:

https://i.postimg.cc/QdcX9cDD/lamb-chop.jpg

I'll be cooking wild rice (yes, I'm aware it's a grass grain, not
"rice") and heating up some small peas to go with it.

What's on the menu at your house tonight?

Jill

Sounds great. I love lamb. We are having grilled coho salmon, steamed
asparagus, air fries and salad.

That sounds good. I've rarely eaten lamb, and never a lamb chop, so I'd
assume that's a good price.

I was on the road, to and from Maryland, all day. I was gifted a
past-date 7/11 store turkey sandwich earlier in the day, and for supper,
I stopped at a Chick Fil-a for an original chicken sandwich, somewhere
near Cumberland, MD. I think I'm surely about road-tripped out for the
year!

A pineapple-infused gyro doesn't sound too bad. But this
conversation should not have turned into pineapple + lamb.

To celebrate my final physical therapy session, I stopped at the bakery
for a prosciutto and parmesan croissant. Paired it with a salad dressed
with red-wine vinaigrette seasoned with Penzey's pizza seasoning.

Unappealing. Yet pork goes well with lots of fruit;
pineapple, apples, plums, prunes, redcurrants,
gooseberries...

The year is not over yet. ;)

Oooh, that croissant sounds good! I'm reminded of something that was
discontinued decades ago. I think it was Sara Lee Corporation that used
to sell savory frozen stuffed croissants; ham & swiss, chicken &
broccoli, etc., to be heated in the oven. They were pretty darn tasty
but doubtful they'd compare to what you got at the bakery.

Different, surely. Because parm and prosciutto are very salty, they
don't put a ton inside. Just enough for flavor.

And its OK if you Dutch see and eat dead fish called herring. There or apparently in Australia. Right?
[En het is OK als jullie Nederlanders dode vissen zien en eten die haring worden genoemd. Daar of blijkbaar in Australië. Nix?]

Because they are not cute little animals. They look
like what they are, sheep.

By the time they reach slaughter weight, lambs
typically weigh about 90 lbs liveweight, hardly "little"
and well past the stage of cute skipping and gambolling.
