With HDD's, the talk is of MTBF. They will fail, eventually. It is based
on runtime. Home computers aren't running 24/7/365, enterprise computers
do - which is why they have enterprise HDD's. Speaking of servers, a
friend here is soon to receive 500 servers each with a 5 drive per unit
RAID array. He's promised me a few SSDs. ;-) He has to wipe (DBAN)
each and every drive of all data. Big job.

I do indeed. Want the serial numbers? They are out on the table at the
moment. Seems like I am now down to 4 with one seemingly dead. Not the
7200.11 See below.

When these die, the *only* option at the time was to send them back to
the manufacturer. One of mine went back whilst one I bought *new* had
supposedly been RMA'd and was sold to me by a local dealer and had all
the sealed Seagate wrapping on it. It wasn't a grey import either, as
verified by the Canadian helpdesk.

Mine are 7200.12 Not bizarre in the slightest.

Photos clearly showing the model numbers and serial numbers would be
perfect. Also a photo of a bios screen showing one of the unit serial
numbers and the 32mb capacity.

Very interesting.. The 32mb problem only affected a series of 7200.11
drives and was not reported as an issue on the 7200.12 drives.

Extremely bizarre that you neither mentioned it when Noddy had the issue
nor did the 7200.12 drive have a firmware issue that caused the 32mb
bug. It was confined to the 7200.11 series.

Oh you want an example question that proves you lack integrity?

Here's one:

from the thread "May need to buy petrol soon" Oct 7 2021

You assert to another poster:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> He made the assertion either he proves it or he is a
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> proven liar.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

>>>>>>>>>>>>> false, only that it's unproven

>>>>>>>>>>>

Given your assertion above that "He asserts that the claim is true, so,
if it is unproven, he is lying."

I then asked:

>>>>>>>>>>> In that case NoddyLiar, claiming he is qualified for which
>>>>>>>>>>> *no* evidence has been provided or found anywhere, is lying.
>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>> Agreed?
>>>>>>>>>>

Your response:

>>>>>>>>>> Whatever.

"Whatever" isn't an answer. Given what you had just stated, "yes" was
the only answer you could have given here if you had *any* integrity at all.

You then went on to evade answering the question as seen below.

Do you not think that I knew what he was trying to do (badly) and just
didn't play the game that he was trying on? Jeeze you're thick the pair
of you, maybe I'll just not have to be so subtle in future.

It's rather bizarre that these fuckwits would make such a noise about
"truth" and how vitally important it is in an irrelevant newsgroup like
this, yet not one of them seems keen to say a *single* word about
Clasener and his horrendous history of bullshit that's been perpetrated
in this group.

Not one. Not even from Jerky Jerkoff, who as we know felt that Clasener
talked *so* much shit that he felt it necessary to "investigate" him
over it, and who after Clasener no doubt sent him the most pathetic
"please don't hurt me" private email turned around to become his best
friend going on to claim that he had a "moral obligation" to not reveal
who he is.

Strange.

And yet here we have Felix, the dumbest fuckwit this group has *ever*
known, throwing his *own* variety of bullshit into the mix in claiming
that because you don't give a fuck about anything to do with *me* that
you don't care if "people lie".

You couldn't make up shit as mental as this if you *wanted* to....

Everything electronic has an MTBF, not just hard disks. It is a
calculated value representing the sum of the failure rates of the
components. With spinning rust hard disks, to get the maximum life, you
never turn them off.

Alvey has a strange fascination with a *lot* of things.

Just look at the irrational world he lives in. He can't go a day without
making the same dozen infantile posts about me as if no one has ever
heard them before, and he has this bizarre notion that whatever he
imagines about me is "proven" to be true despite him not ever having
shown proof of jack shit in the real world.

He's certainly not playing with a full deck, that's for sure :)
