It'd probably make $2.93 under a Labor government (if you believe the
happy clapper)!

Your EV will also become unaffordable to run!

We're obviously fucked whichever way!

Indeed. Grossly incompetent is understating it. But just as we have seen
in here with with Derro's supporters, people will still happily enable
an incompetent compulsive liar.

until he started doing the job either. We know just how incompetent he
is now though.

level.

**Yes, it is. YOUR words:

"*All* politicians are liars Trevor." You've established that ALL
politicians lie and that Julia Gillard told ONE. Scummo, OTOH:

https://www.crikey.com.au/dossier-of-lies-and-falsehoods/

And many of those are seriously bad porkies.

It was one of the most blatant lies in
> Australian political history,

**Nope. It was a really dumb thing to say though. Here are some of the
more egregious lies told by YOUR heroes:

John Howard:

https://parlinfo.aph.gov.au/parlInfo/search/display/display.w3p;query=Id:%22library/partypol/EZID6%22

Tony Abbott:

https://independentaustralia.net/politics/politics-display/abbott-lies-to-the-nation-to-the-end-65-of-the-worst,8164

There's lots more of course.

and it's also one that you're prepared to
> quite happily sweep under the carpet and ignore because you like the
> idiot who gave birth to it.

**Julia Gillard an "idiot"? I've heard her called many things, but never
an idiot.

If you had any scruples at all you should be
> just as critical of that as anything Morrison or anyone else has done,

**I'll say it once more: When Julia Gillard said that she would never
introduce a carbon tax, she said a really dumb thing.

Contrast that with your hero, Scummo, who lies as easily as he breathes.

**Nope. Your revisionist history aside, that was all the work of that
religious loon, Rudd. Rudd, almost single-handedly, destroyed Labor's
chances at successive elections.

and if it hadn't been for Kevin Rudd
> taking back the reigns and making a miraculous recovery the Labor Party

**Rudd was the problem, not the solution.

**Nonsense:

https://independentaustralia.net/politics/politics-display/abbott-lies-to-the-nation-to-the-end-65-of-the-worst,8164

https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/history-may-be-kinder-to-julia-gillard-20200622-p554tp

Of course the child abusers will not be happy with Ms Gillard, nor the
Catholics. She made our society a better place. You can't say that about
Abbott or Scummo. Neither leader has done anything much of consequence.
Unless you like the idea of Knights and Dames. Personally, I reckon such
honours are just daft, but I accept that you may dispute that.

**Wrong. The housing market is driven by several factors, including:

* Housing stock.
* Population growth.
* Interest rates.
* Government interference.
* FOMO.

NOTHING to do with the strength of the economy. Presently we have:

* Insufficient housing stock. (sends prices up)
* Low population growth. (sends prices down)
* Low interest rates. (sends prices up)
* Massive government interference. (sends prices up)
* Massive FOMO. (Sends prices up)

Scummo has deliberately interfered with the market and caused prices to
rise. Housing stock, interest rates and FOMO are outside the ability of
government to control, yet Scummo made the wrong decision anyway. He is
an economic idiot. Yet you still support him.

You're wasting your time. NoddyLiar was a card carrying Abbott
supporter, especially all the misogynistic BS he spouted and the Murdoch
lies and character assassinations he repeated in support... until it was
clear to everyone Abbott was a grossly incompetent raving far right loon
as PM - then he changed his tune.

NoddyLiar is even less trustworthy then Scummo, like all card carrying
LNP supporters. It's a prerequisite.

He's been Deputy Prime Minister, Trevor. There is no surprise left in
him. He's an empty shirt, and as bad as you think Morrison is Albanese
has absolutely zero chance of defeating him at the polls.

So, by your logic, someone can have a lengthy career in Federal Politics
up to and including occupying the role of Deputy PM, but that gives you
no idea what they'd be like as Prime Minister.

Riiiiight.

Has he really? Worse than "no carbon tax under any government I lead",
"By 1990no Australian child will live in poverty" or "This is the
recession we had to have"?

Has he been *that* bad? I must have blinked and missed it.

And what's the worry there, Trevor?

Not that I have a religious bone in my body, but what's the problem with
a Catholic school advertising a position and giving preference to a
Catholic applicant?

I'm sure there is, and just for the record here Trevor Tony Abbott is
*not* my "hero" and I have never been a supporter of his *ever*. I have
hated the man with a passion ever since the days he was Health Minister
in the Howard Government and tried to ban access to the abortion drug RU486.

This claim of yours that I am a supporter of his is something you have
invented, and it is an utter nonsense and a complete falsehood.

You ever met her Trevor? I have. A few times. She used to live a couple

She is a moron.

It wasn't just a "dumb thing", and it was more than just a lie. What she
did was showed the entire country that it came to politics, the most
important thing to her was doing whatever the fuck she could to get
herself into the top job which is why she prostituted herself and went
back on every election promise she made to secure cross bench support
and eventually claim victory in the election.

That's a bit more than just "being dumb". That's treating everyone who
voted for her like a fucking mug.

people being my "heroes". I don't have any political heroes, and you
making such claims only serves to make you look like a compete lunatic.

Trevor, you are completely off your nut and have zero grasp on reality.
I can tell you as sure as I'm sitting here that had Rudd *not* ousted
Gillard and come back as Prime Minister and the Labor Party goner into
the 2013 federal election with Gillard at the helm they would have been
absolutely *decimated* at the polls to the point of them ceasing to
exist as a political party.

Quite simnply, Rudd pulled off a herculean effort in turning Labor's
fortunes around and saved the party from extinction.

Two things there Trevor. In the first place, someone giving an opinion
piece on how they think Gillard *may* be remembered means jack shit, and
the story on Abbott has nothing whatsoever to do with what was being
discussed.

Its not maintenance, its widening adding extra lanes which takes years
and years to complete, for example there has been roadworks on the
Monash Fwy with reduced speed limits for so long I can't remember when
they started.
It would be at least 10yrs since anyone could drive on that road without
having to slow for some unnecessary road works which only happen to keep
the premiers union mates in work.

The Bruce Highway is and always has been a work in progress. They spent
millions and several years on the Caloundra Road intersection, and I'm
not sure what has actually been achieved other than having to go through
2 sets of traffic lights instead of one.

They are now adding extra lanes from Bribie Island Road to Steve Irwin
Way, It's going to take at least 2 years of 80Km speed limits and will
move the traffic jam about 10Km north.

They are doing something at Deception Bay Road, not sure what they are
trying to achieve but it has been disrupting traffic for a year so far.

Upgrading of roads is *necessary* and, given the lack of vision and
forward planning of state and federal governments in this country,
*unavoidable*.

**I've been driving from Sydney to Newcastle, regularly, for the past 27
years. About 6 years ago, the NSW gummint decided to upgrade the
freeway. The speed limit was reduced from 110kph down to 80kph (lower in
some areas). It took them FIVE YEARS to do the job. It was incredibly
frustrating and annoying. Frequent traffic stops were required, to allow
trucks to enter the freeway. I can only imagine how horrible it was for
professional drivers and those who took that trip daily. However, it's
all done now and the result is excellent. I never blamed the gummint.
I'm not stupid enough to do so, as I understand that these things have
to be done.

Same thing up here on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Only a couple of city
bypasses left and it will be a minimum of 4 lane divided highway from
Melbourne to Brisbane. Even that nightmare 8 kilometres of West Pennant
Hills Road has gone now. Yay!!!!

They have spent years "upgrading" various fwys down here and within a
very short time of the works being completed they start somewhere else,
its a never ending perpetual traffic jam.
Doesn't seem to matter how many extra lanes they add the traffic never
seems to get any better so IMHO the work is a waste of time, the money
would be better spent elsewhere such as on public transport.
The amount of time lost while sitting in roadworks traffic jams will
never be gotten back even if the roads end up better.
Just happy to be retired and not have to put up with that shit on a
daily basis.

Jeez, you're not a very progressive person, are you? In fact, you seem
rather regressive. Your career, which went backwards, is the epitome of
that.

Like so many other things, Darren and the Enablers (sounds like a 60s pop
group), have no concept of Relativity. Fraudster chants that cars are more
expensive than ever before because of the price tag, and Deryl says that
adding extra lanes makes no difference.

If John O'Grady was alive today his sequel would probably be, 'They're A
Weird Mob. And Getting Weirder'.

No, it's true. For a time there was no petrol to be had. We were
making paint and had stocks of solvents. Mainly Turps with a bit of
lighter fluid to guarantee starting from cold. Though there was lots
of pre ignition if the accelerator was leaned on. Sadly we had no
tetraethyl lead.
Little-boy Noddles should get into his pretty little car and drive off
into the sunset.

No, it is not "Max". You're making this bullshit up and expecting people
to buy it because you think everyone else is as much of a stupid little
troll as you are.

You really need to fuck back off into whatever retarded group you blew
in from, as there is no love for you here....

**I drove to the Northern Rivers in 2019. I was blown away by the sheer
scale of the work being done. That bridge over the the McLean River (?)
was amazing. I have never seen so many road workers, spread out over
such a long distance. Finding a motel room was challenging, as they were
chocka with road workers. That said, a client drove from Brisbane to
Sydney last year and reckons the works have shaved at least 90 minutes
from his trip. For my part I usually get off the freeways and drive the
backroads. More interesting (for me). Cruising through the cane fields
and catching the odd car ferry was delightful. Slower, but really nice.
Stayed in Nimbin for a few nights. That was fun.
